#they need a storyline #THE MAKER AND HIS INSECURE NEUROTIC CONTROL FREAK ON CRACK VAMP #in that ep damon saved her life twice #can’t she just forget the fact that damon toyed with her dad? #she’s his caroline k #he’s always looking out for her like a daddy #and tbh he’s a better daddy than bill is.

The one thing that bothered me to no end was the Alaric/Damon scene when they are at the Lockwood house. It really annoyed me because Alaric says his only purpose is to keep Elena alive and to protect her, and he suggests Damon to cut the crap with her. Damon is clearly hurt and says “And what I am doing since I’ve known her, what I’ve been doing all summer for her?” and he can’t take it anymore. He snaps.

Because Alaric was basically saying “You’re around her saving her life just because you want to get into her pants and you want to be in her good graces, and nothing else, because you’re bad”. I am sorry but what? This is what I get. Now all Damon did in the past seasons and in this one isn’t worth of anything. Because he just wants to win Elena over, as if he only cared about himself since we’ve met him. No, this is wrong. He is not an hero but at the end of the day he is always the one who keeps her alive, protected. At all costs.

But now he is done. And I am with him.

People want him to be a good guy, when Stefan is off killing and listing his victims on a wall. People want Damon to stop acting as a vampire, which is impossible if you feed on human blood, because your body overreacts, but then they’re all about finding Stefan and missing Stefan and adoring him when he is being killing and ripping innocent people all around the place. And it does not matter why he is doing it, because murder is always murder and I am so over the fact that if Damon kills we should hate him and if Stefan does we should understand him. This is not how it works. Damon isn’t even killing. He didn’t want to kill Alaric and only wanted to play with Bill. He doesn’t even enjoy the blood anymore, even if he admited he misses it I don’t buy it. He was only pretending to be bad and he is failing. I hope Elena notices it, damn girl.

This episode was supposed to show us the famous “ten steps back” Damon would have taken. I didn’t see this. I simply saw a vampire who tries so hard to keep control, he tries so hard to be a better man, because deep down he misses it more than anything, but this vampire is a…vampire and can’t always turn off his urges. It’s wrong for him and this is how his mind works. Because he thinks he is supposed to feed on human’s necks. His mind lies to his heart and he snaps, inside and outside. Last episode he was disappointed by himself when he wrongly left Elena in Stefan’s apartement, risking a lot. And now his anger is out. He is done processing it and moving on. Everytime he did it, things don’t change and no one accepts it. People only seem to notice his disturbing behavior. And never the caring one. Damon is so much more than this and I think he is starting to realize it, that he can be a better guy but what’s the point if you only end up home alone hurting and bleeding cause your ripper brother is still better than you? No matter what? What is the point of changing because of the love of a girl if this girl is apparently only trying to turn you into something you’re not? Love doesn’t work like that. I am sorry. And he is now a partner in crime with Katherine, he chose to be played by her once again, but I really think it won’t last. And he know it anyways, that what they’ll be doing is to protect Elena and to save Stefan from Klaus’s anger. But he risks and accepts to hit the road with her. It’s all he can do at the moment. It’s not the worst he can do.

He is not around Elena because he just wants her sex and then goodbye. He wants to be loved and he is working so damn hard. One step wrong, they erase all the good ones he’s being doing since this series has started.
