Once again people assume we're going to die of global warming all at once while also going "eh, we're fucked" because they just don't want to do whatever we CAN actually do to fight global warming and slow it down. We can't halt it all at once but we're not COMPLETELY powerless. People just want to believe we are so they don't have to do anything.

I don't think it's that people don't want to do the work (or at least I hope that isn't the case) but I do believe that people are exhausted from constantly hearing news about how bad it's getting and meanwhile the people doing the most damage barely face any consequences while we the people get blamed for it. I'll keep recycling and cycling to work and doing all the right things that I personally can do but I'm not going to pretend like I'm not terrified of the sort of damage Donald Trump can inflict upon the earth during his presidency.
