cas likes dorothy because she is wise and takes care of her loved ones and he likes her dry sense of humor and jack likes rose because she's nice and funny and he likes betty white

Excuse me while I scream into the void because just….look at this masterpiece. I literally had to stop everything I was doing (possibly including breathing if my gasping at the end is evidence) so I could read this and stare at Liz’s beautiful art.

Ok but why is this giving me “Dean looking for the garter under Cas’ wedding dress” vibes ???????

I really think during the divorce arc Cas should've tried to get drunk in an effort to stop thinking about: the box, Dean using the equalizer, Chuck killing Jack, and his own hands destroying Belphegor. He should've gotten TRASHED. And he should've drunk called Dean to verbally rip him a new one.

“The problem with you,” Cas slurs down the line. “Is that you see the world in black and white.”

Whatever Dean was expecting when he picked up the phone, it wasn’t this. Then again, it’s two am. Maybe he should have had a clue. “What?”

“You think things are this, so they must be that. Jack is the son of Lucifer, he must be evil, Jack killed Mary, so-“ Cas pauses, and as much as Dean wants to start shouting at him, hackles raised, that familiar flicker of concern comes into play, the way it always does with Cas.

“Are you okay?”

“I don’t care for blue curaçao.” Cas spits. “But desperate times. When you decide to drink a store down to the ground you gotta commit.”

“Someone sold you all their alcohol?” Dean feels a little anger at that, too, that someone would do this with no reservations.

“I broke in. They have a very comfortable floor.” Dean opens his mouth but Cas keeps going. “You know, I remember when Abraham and Isaac went up the mountain. I watched very closely. Abraham tied his son to the altar and Isaac was so… quiet. He was very quiet. Just lay there watching his father. And God stopped him. Hooray. But I kept watching, I’m sure God didn’t, but I did. And things were… never the same, after that. Isaac flinched under his father’s touch for the rest of his life. Silences went on too long. When Abraham died, I remember, Isaac… wept. Not for the man his father was when he died, but for the man who had… cradled him, taught him songs. The man Isaac thought his father to be, before the mountain. For the illusion. And I wondered, what sort of father could do that to his child? What sort of father could… break the covenant between father and son? This… promise, that you implicitly make when you have a child, I will love you, I will protect you, I will take care of you. What sort of father could do that?” It sounds like Cas takes a swig of something. “Now I know.”

Anger tears its ugly head in Dean’s belly. “Hey-“

“Of course, I’m the one who had to destroy the body. So, really, I suppose you made me Abraham, in the end. An Abraham with God’s divine mission fulfilled. And so Isaac died twice, body and soul.”

“Cas-“ he snaps.

“Don’t Cas me!” Cas shouts suddenly. “Don’t Cas me like we’re fighting over strategy, like everything’s normal-“ his voice cracks, and the anger is suddenly replaced by panic. Is Cas crying? Cas is crying. Fuck. Dean presses the heel of his hand into his forehead.

“Cas,” he says quietly. “Cas, tell me where you are, man. I’ll come and get you.”

“I’m on the mountain, Dean,” he answers, something in his tone distant. “And there’s no way down.”

The line goes dead.

“Cas? Cas? Cas.” A surge of vicious anger hits his chest and Dean hurls the phone across the room. He hopes it breaks. He hopes he has physical proof that something has broken. He wants to see the cracks. Needs to see the pieces falling apart.

He turns out his light, and pretends he’s fallen asleep.

Definitely a finale fix it :D The prompt was Dean and Cas doing something happy in Heaven. Choosing to live, free to write their own story seems the happiest ending possible to me. ;w;

After Cas comes back from the Empty again (for good!) Claire decided she needed to keep her eyes on him from now on. They usually do reasonable things together, and even though Dean gets jittery every time Cas leaves his sight nowadays, he’s not too worried about their father-daughter bonding times.

Until he stumbles across Claire’s TikTok account.

I was inspired by a ko-fi prompt that asked for something sweet for Cas and Claire. I don’t know how I ended up with this but I had fun with it!

(I wonder how his hair will turn out *lol*)
