This could also work for the movie Venom to. Eddie and The Other sleep on the bed whether The Other choses their dog form or blob form. At times they get scratches during the night so they rub up against Eddie's beard, using it as a backscratcher all through the night.
Eddie wakes up very confused by his beard has bits of tendrils stuck in it every morning.
