24 for Yamazaki please! :D

*Omg. This ask is so old! But I am determined to cleaning out my inbox this year! I know, I know. I made that promise two years ago, LOL. But this time it’s real! This was inspired by your headcanon. Enjoy! P.S. Sending you good vibes! *

PATCHWORK

“I’m not okay.” The young soldier winced as Yamazaki inspected him. His black sleeves soaked the red out as the man continued to bleed from the side of his stomach.

“Okay” was an understatement. He was bleeding profusely and could die if this wound did not close.

But his whiny voice annoyed Yamazaki and it took a lot of will power to keep his eyes from rolling. Now was not the time to be a prick, he told himself.

“It’s just a flesh wound.” Yamazaki kept his cool, his hand steady as he began to stitch him back together.

The man jerked as the needle pierced through the skin. He lifted his head up, one eye opened to peek at the source of his pain.

“’Flesh wound’?” He cried out a sound like a dog yelping in pain. “I’m filleted like a fish!” The man sobbed again, shaking his legs in agony.

“Stop… moving.” Yamazaki raised his voice, his eyes glaring at him with annoyance. “I’m trying to close the wound, but I can’t do it if you keep moving.”

Yamazaki hurried his fingers, keeping the stitches close together like he was repairing a tear on his kimono. He did not have the expert skills of a dressmaker, but he was precise like a surgeon.

“What’s taking so long?”

“Quiet. I’m making a quilt.” Sighing, Yamazaki flicked his eyes at the man and contemplated if his life was worth saving. It took a lot to piss off the ninja, and this one was testing him right now. It was a thankless job, and he didn’t expect any of his patients to give a damn about him at all. After looping the last stitch, Yamazaki wrapped the man in a cloth to cover the suture.

“All right,” he said, lifting the soldier to sit up. “Keep the stitches clean and dry.”

Yamazaki washed his hands then gathered his belongings. The man soon fell asleep, and the ninja left in silence, running toward the battlefield.

“Talk to me… I’m worried.” BROTP Hijikata and Sanan

Thank you so much for waiting! And I apologize…because this didn’t turn out nearly as fluffy as I had hoped. I hope you enjoy!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“He drank the ochimizu.”

Sannan closed his eyes with a deep heave of his shoulders. Hijikata hadn’t ever really supported the use of ochimizu, even if he did allow it as an option for those who were ordered to commit seppuku for a serious transgression. Sannan was well aware of how disgusted Hijikata was with what the elixir did to those who took it. He was certain it was a contributing factor to the tension that was ever-present in their relationship now.

Despite this, Sannan wasn’t shocked that Hijikata had resorted to using the ochimizu when he had. Hijikata’s number one goal had always been to work to make Kondō and himself samurai, and he would do whatever it took to reach that goal. In that sense, Sannan could understand why Hijikata had made the choice that he did.

Sannan sighed and closed his eyes. What now? Hijikata was known for being tight-lipped when it came to his feelings, and he was certain that Hijikata probably wouldn’t open up to him now…not when that wasn’t the type of relationship they had. But maybe…just maybe, Hijikata would be more open with him now that they both would be going through very similar experiences.

"Why did I marry you?"/"It took a lot of convincing" for KazaChi 😚😚

Happy Birthday, Eevee! I know this ask was from a long time ago, butI hope you enjoy this for your birthday, anyway! Love you!

Chizuru stared out her window, watching the pink and white petals getcaught in the wind. Feeling the breeze whisper inside her bedroom, she tugged at her sleeves to lengthen them, but her eyes were drawnin by the gold and black patterned trim of her kimono. She only knewone other person that had the same exact pattern.

It had been more than six months now since she became Lady Kazama ofthe West. The village rejoiced when their lord had finally settleddown, marrying a pure-blooded Oni as well. She still couldn’tbelieve her wheel of fortune—the once page to the greatShinsengumi, and while it took a lot of convincing at his end, shewas now the wife of a noble lord.

“Yukimura of the East? I thought there were no survivors?” Theelderly woman turned to Kazama, slipping a red and white envelope inhis hand as she bowed. Her words made Chizuru’s stomach drop, reminding her of the fire that burned through her village, killingeveryone except her, her brother and Uncle Kodo.

Kazama bowed at the woman, accepting the wedding gift. He turned tohis wife, and Chizuru offered him a small smile, her lips barelymoving from a thin line.

“The reports were misinformed. There were a few survivors and luckyfor me, one of them was my dear Chizuru.” He wrapped an arm aroundChizuru’s shoulders, pulling her closer to him. “I am very, verylucky.”

The woman squealed with delight, then left the newlyweds to receivethe other guests waiting to congratulate them. It was a long processand the two barely spoke to each other as they shook hands and bowedat all the people.

She had never seen Kazama so happy—smiling and laughing—andclearly out of character for him. But every time she caught a glimpseof him, it made her heart flutter. He was a lot more handsome whenhis eyes squinted and the apple of his cheeks protruding from hisface.

They held hands as they entered their bedchamber together for thefirst time. Chizuru felt his hands shake as they reached for her obibehind her.

“Why did you marry me?” he asked, gently kissing her forehead, while untying the knot.

Chizuru took a deep breath, went on her tiptoes and kissed him. Theirclothes were off before she could answer him, and the only otherwords spoken that night were each other’s first names.

*This is super duper late, but here goes! Enjoy!*

35. “I just wanted to let you know that I think you’re beautiful.”

Unwritten

Souji barged into Saito’s room, expecting to have a few words with the purple-haired captain. He needed to know if the rumors were true. Why would he leave? Why would he be swayed by the likes of Itou? Instead, he found the place empty and the floor covered with crumbled pieces of paper. It was a mess.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk.” Souji shook his head, clicking his tongue like a disappointed mother. “You’re not so perfect after all, eh?”

He picked up a half-torn note and read it. “I just wanted….” The ink smeared on the parchment, hiding the rest of the sentence like the author wanted it erased from his life. Souji stepped on another ball of paper. He picked it up and unraveled it, revealing another half-written note.

“I think you’re…” Another block of black ink hid the last word.

Souji’s curiosity piqued and continued unfolding the papers scattered around him.

“I can’t stop…. about you.” An incoherent word splashed in between the words. Souji looked closer and he wasn’t sure if he read “thinking” or “dreaming.”

“I want to express my…” Censored before the note had finished.

He must have opened a dozen trashed letters by now. Each one incomplete with splotches of ink overwhelming the light-brown parchment.

“Waste of paper,” Souji said, shaking his head as he laid the last piece on top of the other ones.

The shoji door slid open.

“What are you doing?” Saito’s voice had a hint of surprise in it. Souji turned to look at him, and he could almost see a faint of pink on the younger captain’s cheeks. Saito closed the door behind him.

“Ah, Hajime-kun. For someone who prides himself a clean man, your room does not reflect such a person.” He chuckled haughtily, as if he had not violated Saito’s privacy.

“I do not like repeating myself, Okita-san. But once again, I’d like to know what you were doing right now.” Saito’s face remained stoic, his lips so thin it was barely a line on his face. He tilted his head to the side, his eyes widening at the sight of un-wrinkled pile of paper.

“I caught you!” Souji pointed at him, his eyebrows wiggling for dramatic effect.“What did I do?” Saito closed the distance between them. He could take a swing at him if he wanted to. But the way Souji’s tone chirped, he knew it was all a ruse.“You’ve been writing secret letters.” Souji crossed his arms, a grin splitting his face. “It’s all right here.” He pointed to the pile and then paused for a moment. “Traitor.”

The last word caught Saito by surprise. A traitor to the Shinsengumi? The insult wounded him than any cut from a sharp blade.

“That is far from the truth.”

“Prove it.” At this point, Souji had successfully deflected his faults at Saito. It was no longer about him rifling through Saito’s room. He wondered whether it was true: the notes were secret codes to the enemy. It was no secret that Itou was recruiting men to join him, succeeding at turning Heisuke to his side.

Saito reached into his kimono sleeve and took out a sealed letter, handing it to Souji. “I went out looking for you, you know.”

Souji took it with hesitation. It was addressed to him, and he opened it immediately. “Dear Okita-san, I am leaving to join Heisuke-kun and Itou-san on their journey. Before I leave, I just wanted to let you know that I think you’re beautiful. You are truly the heart and soul of the Shinsengumi and I hope you continue to practice to improve your skills. Your comrade, Saito Hajime.”

Souji crumbled the letter and threw it at Saito’s face. He stomped past him, and Saito grabbed him by the arm to stop him.

Souji turned around and planted his lips against Saito’s… hard. Souji was panting, face red and heated, but he did not utter a word. Neither did Saito. They looked at each other for a long minute, then Souji turned away and closed the door behind him.
