WALLY WEST, who to alot of people was  the one, true, and only FLASH,  eventually left Central City and moved to Hollywood.  After a critically-acclaimed yet short-lived film career, he now teaches Two-Step at Fred Astaire.

Years later, AQUAMAN's memoirs would reveal DC Comics' terrible miscasting of its heroes. Clearly, Lanternhand / Aquaman: Sea Pervert would have been a more appropriate use of Hal and Arthur's respective, uh, talents.

This is where Barry Allen, The FLASH, landed when he fell out of the Time-Space.  In the World of SLASHPOINT, everybody looks like a teenaged Sailor Moon reject, and when your new boyfriend is a horny sixteen-year-old with a GREEN LANTERN Power Ring and a really good imagination, you're a little too busy to be bothered by the details, anyway.  [Art via]

In fact, the AAARRGGHHH! made by the assembled Heroes and Villains of the former DCU was so loud that its noise disrupted the Time-Space Continuum.

Of course, the only person who experienced the disruption was The FLASH.  Having survived and finally freeing himself from FLASHPOINT's wacky alternate reality, he was traversing Time-Space once again, in the hope of finding some way to prevent the Great Change.

He might have found a way, too, but the vibrations from the AAARRRGGGHHH! l slammed with a loud KE-RANG! right into The Flash, and sent him tumbling from Time-Space into yet another alternate reality.  [Art via]

In the Similar Universe of SUPERBOY BIG GULP:

Fast was the operative word for the Justice League of America. If they were to prevent the coming Destruction of their Universe, only one man could gather all the help they'd need to defend it.

Barry Allen, the first FLASH, didn't even hesitate. His task would be to traverse the Multiverse of the DC Universe in search of assistance, recruiting hero and villain alike to join them. Together, The JLA believed, they might stand a chance at preventing the total annihilation of all that they knew.

Wishing for the good old days to return, those simple moments of merely having to battle an Anti-Monitor or two, The FLASH began to vibrate his molecules, and run. He ran fast, until all that was left of him as he entered the Multiverse was a small wisp of smoke, rising up from the scorch marks his boots left on the ground.

The JLA then set about doing what they could, while also waiting for The FLASH to return.

Unfortunately, when he did return, it would be way too late to help any of them. [Art via]

Flash Minimalist by Matthew Waite [via]

There are only so many ways you can portray a guy running — what makes it really interesting to draw the Flash is how you create that sense of speed.

Barry Allen, aka the second Flash, was one of two Major DC players who lost their life during the Crisis On Infinite Earths.  [Art by Rennee]

  • Which other major DCU hero went six feet under New Earth because of the Crisis?  Shout out if you know!

We've gotta take a time-out from History for now, but we'll return to recap the first few pages as well as add a few new ones --  so stick around!

Now it's Geoff Johns' turn to miss the 'boat of sheer brilliance'. The Flash and GL (Green Lantern) may be old pals, but the chemistry between Barry/Wally and Bruce/Dick (Batman) is undeniable.  And when those two become One, their respective ensigns merge and form the symbol of the ultra-cool BatFlash!

This is THE definition of post-modern superhero, folks. Wear it, and all those who see you will welcome the emerald light of envy into their lives. BatFlash is the most awesome there is. Designed by the always brilliant Steve Anderson, it's also on a $25 Red Bubble Tee  -- HERE.
