Voltron Season 6.

Well I’ve finished watching season 6 of Voltron and I must say it had to be the most heart warming and adrenaline pumping series of them all. But most of all KIETH IS BACK IN BLACK!!!!

Looking back over the series I would say I had some good moments, for starters my theory about Shiro seeing everything that Haggar saw was right but I didn’t expect her to get back her full Altean form after facing the white lion and gaining Oriande’s secrets that was a surprise. Some of my best episodes were Razors edge where Kieth and Krolia were having a bonding moment as mother and son and from what I could tell this must’ve taken place some time after Bloodlines and while the Paladins were aiding Lotor. The flashbacks also granted us insight and I was right it was a I crashed on earth and your farther found me and nursed me back to health stories. 

What surprised me the most was the fact Kieth's dad was wearing the shirt Shiro had in season 1-2 which did explain its origins and why Krolia left since she had to protect her family. What took me by surprise was how they found a Altean living in a Galra compound and that a few episodes later it turned out to be Romelle except in this series she's not Alluras cousin. Plus the Paladins got a new pet to add to the collection counting the mice, Lances cow and Pidges trash caterpillars. However when Romelle revealed Lotors intentions I was surprised to learn that some Alteans did survive Zarkon’s genocide most likely some escaped before the planet was destroyed and gone into hiding to be found by Lotor who drained their life force just so he could learn how to access the Altean alchemy secrets. I was just shock and just when I was beginning to like Lotor, but I guess the old saying is true like father like son. But I doubt even Zarkon wouldn’t sink that low, oh who am I kidding of course he would. 

This was made worse when Lotor began to get close to Allura, even getting a kiss blech that was something I didn’t see coming. But when we saw a prelude to future events of Kieth seeing Shiro, it confirmed that the episode Black Paladins was focused on the two of them. Haggar got control initiating the final phase of operation Koron to get Lotor and the comet ships. I was expecting Kieth to hesitate going back to the Black Lion but when he saw his brother figure was in trouble he decided to face what he was afraid of given his two year development. The minute the lion activated I just shouted with joy to know the Voltron Force rides again hopefully for good this time. 

What broke my heart the most was seeing Kieth face Shiro and learning about operation Koron, many theories were right the Galra were building an army given Shiro’s victory in the arena. Seeing the two fight brother against brother just made me almost tear up inside but it confirms how Kieth got his scar, it was from facing Shiro/the clone, but damn who knew Shiros hand had a blaster and energy saber. I knew at some point the hand would need to be sliced off in the battle but even in the worst of it Kieth held onto Shiro till the end. 

Close to the final episodes it confirmed what most have theorised, when Voltron faced Zarkon his body was destroyed but his essence was saved by the Black Lion but couldn't tell them about the clone since his connection was weak but his attachment to Kieth was strong. What amazed me was Kieth trying to reach the team without the wormhole but it was this moment he was able to fully bond with the Black lion and like Shiro use its hidden power of the Transcendent wings this showed how much Kieth has developed. 

I was taken by surprised when the three comet ships formed Lotors own version of Voltron which many suspected and I guessed it given the shape of the ships and how more agile it was when facing Voltron. But when the five entered the rift using the Blazing sword it was amazing. Somehow in the battle I knew history would repeat itself Lotor was going mad in the rift much like his father but the way the Paladins used it to unlock more of Voltron's powers such as eye beams and the lion head attack (yes thats a win!) was a miraculous sight.

Then came the ultimate sacrifice in order to seal the rifts Lotor created they had to sacrifice the Castle which was a defining moment in this series since its been their home ever since this adventure began. One of the most heart felt moments in the finale was bringing Shiros essence from the Black lion into the clones body turning his hair completely white which was a surprise. But the main thing is the real Shiro is back and here to stay. So it looks like come season seven however long it may be its bye bye traveling the universe next stop Earth. 

To sum up Kieth is back in Black, Lotor’s trapped in the rift forever, Haggar and Sendak are now all thats left on the board, the real Shiro is back and the team have a castle to rebuild. I can honestly hold my hand to my heart and say that this has to be the best Voltron series of them all its gone to heights never thought possible the characters are amazing to interact with and can connect to on an emotional level this is what inspired me to write crossover fics and comics with Frozen and Legend of Korra which you’ll see in due course. 

So until season 7 VOLTRON FOREVER!!!!!!
