I was chatting with some of the guys I bask with and they said the way I catch minnows is problematic; What I do is I sit on the bottom of the lake, I hide myself in the mud and I open my mouth. My tongue looks a lot like a little worm so I wiggle it around- and because of that, minnows swim over and check it out. Once they get close enough, then I bite down and eat them. Some of my rockmates have told me that this is manipulative and toxic behavior- but they also eat minnows...I don't know guys...

Parmelia submontana

This foliose lichen grows on trees in old, humid, boreal-montane forests in Europe, Africa, Macaronesia, and Asia. It is characterized but its geotropically oriented, pendulous lobes with an upper surface covered is long pseudocyphellae, punctiform soralia, and globose isidia. The lower surface is black , and has furcate, black rhizines. It only rarely produces apothecia. I have been on the lookout for this species in the German Alps for the last few years and have yet to find it, but I am sure I will someday. You can't evade me forever, P. submontana!

One time I saw a piece of art that looked like this I think based off of those videos where a guy walks around the Everglades and grabs whatever animals he finds. Does ANYONE have the art I am talking about I KNOW I did not HALLUCINATE it.

One of the few dinosaurs we actually know the approximate colors of, Anchiornis huxleyi. By studying the melanosomes, color-determining pigments within fosilized feathers or skin, scientists can infer that Anchiornis had black, grey and white featheres across it's body with a reddish crest on it's head.

I, of course, stylized the colors, but I think it turned out pretty good. I tried to make it look like a chill little bird with the poses being mostly neutral and not so dynamic.

I get so giddy looking at life restorations of Tiktaalik. Look at this thing. A proper Wet Beast. God’s purest creation. A pioneer and an entrepreneur and the progenitor of all terrestrial vertebrates. Is it a fish? An amphibian? A reptile? Something else entirely? Tiktaalik isn’t going to tell you, it doesn’t owe you an explanation. Tiktaalik is just Tiktaalik. It eats bugs, it lives in the shallows, it likes long walks on the beaches and longer walks in the water.

Toddlers are so pure. She doesn’t understand that we help her with certain things because she’s little. She thinks that everyone just helps each other like that. So she tries to blow on my food and cut it up for me and tries to help me put on my shoes.

i was giving little wagon rides to a baby around the backyard one day and all of a sudden she hops off and slaps the seat of the wagon telling me to get on because it was my turn and i was like no it’s ok im too heavy and she was like NO ITS UR TURN and kept tugging on my hand so i would sit down. eventually i got on and it was just a little 2 year old trying so hard to push me around on a wagon not understanding why it wouldn’t budge but still so determined to let me have my turn lol

I don’t think I’d realised how many casual compliments we pay to our toddler until she started casually complimenting us back, because experience has taught her that’s How Social Interaction Is Done, and there’s nothing quite like a very earnest three-year-old solemnly and sincerely informing you that you look wonderful and smell nice to make you feel really good about yourself

I tell her she’s my best girl. She tells me I’m her best auntie. Then we both feel good about the world!
