veteran au Eryn/Alexandra?
With shaking hands, Eryn opened the leather-bound thick tome, dust sputtering into the air, blazed with stream orange-gold light. She coughed, burnt lungs raking it harder, choking for a minute, spittle covering her arm from where she gasped and heaved.
Shaking her head, stilling her trembling heart, Eryn’s eyes gazed down into memories old and gray, a fading twinkling light. A smile tugged onto her lips, as she stared at photos of her lost love. Alexandra. The word like a torch in a storm black and cold, bringing scarlet light and melting pelting frozen tears.
And before long, those tears melted and strode down her cheeks, as Eryn brought up the engagement ring to her lips, leaving a shaking kiss against the gleaming diamond where fire of sunlight dwelt and swam. I’m so sorry, Alexandra.
