The bell rang, as the last customer of the day finally left.
The tired barista sighed from behind the counter and stretched his aching bones.
What a day.
A few of his colleagues started the preparation to close down the café for the night, as his manager watched from the corner, before walking to her office.
The barista sighed and found himself leaning on the counter top with his eyes half closed. As much as he enjoyed his job, and hoped to own a café of his own some day, it did take a lot out of him sometimes.
It was a hard job... A hard life... Sometimes he found himself too wrapped up in the mundane reality of things. It was dangerous to think about, as he knew it could send him into another mental pit.
He was just.... Tired.
Ccino stood up straight and reached for the tip jar, that was sat hopefully on the counter next to the biscuits.
He picked up the jar, tipped a few pound coins into his hand and counted them. 4 pounds..... Dam....
Of course no one was obliged to leave a tip but... It didn't help his mood.
Oh well, it was better then no tips at all.
As he tipped the coins back in the jar, there was a squeal from one of the other workers.
"oh! It's him! He's really hereeee!" his co-worker happily chirped.
Ccino looked up and couldn't stop a smile from creeping across his face. Outside the shop, leaning against the glass window, was his wonderful boyfriend Nightmare.
In an instant, he felt heat rise to his face and he gave Nightmare a shy wave. Nightmare looked as cold and un-interested in life as always. But when he made eye contact with the small barista, his mouth curled up slightly into a small smile.
He hadn't been expecting nightmare! Both him and Killer had been very busy recently with acting and they hadn't seen each other much. The sight of him made Ccino feel better almost straight away, even if he'd only come to walk him home, it would be wonderful.
