So once again I just cannot remember if this was mentioned before so if it was let me know so I can credit the proper people
So Post Dark Cream or maybe even Mid Dark Cream I can imagine that Killer still likes to call Passive!Nightmare “Boss” and everything. Which I’m sure to some degree would upset/ bother Passive!Nightmare, because it’s a constant reminder of his corrupted self.
I’m sure Nightmare would tell Killer to stop calling him boss and maybe just call him Nightmare.
I could see Killer saying his actual name but it feels so weird and wrong to him he just continues to say boss. Now I could also see maybe instead of saying boss he’d try to say “Chief” “Leader” and maybe even “Master” just for kicks and giggles Nightmare just gives up and let’s Killer keep calling him boss.
Now I’m gonna add a slight fluffynightkiller scenario (ok let’s say they’re still talking things over and haven’t decided to be friends or in a poly relationship but they’re just talking right now)
Let’s say they go visit Ccino again and Killer is occupied with playing with the kittens. Ccino brings Nightmare a cup of coffee and asks Nightmare “Why does Killer still call you boss?”
Nightmare freezes and stays quiet for a while “I don’t know...” again he feels guilty because he might’ve robbed Killer of an opportunity to have become something else other than a pawn to use at his every whim. “Maybe it’s because how loyal he is...”
Ccino is slightly surprised because again he’s never interacted with a Nightmare who showed a range of emotions. Of course he doesn’t know what to say so it’s just awkwardly silent for a while before Ccino breaking the silence “Maybe there’s more to it than that..?”
Time skip!
Ccino is now alone with Killer (because nightmare had to use the bathroom or something like that) so of course Ccino is going to question killer “Is there a reason you still call him Boss?”
Killer stops what he’s doing and tilts his head. “Huh, I guess it just feels natural to.” Maybe killer pauses for a second and his soul flutters becoming distorted in its shape “Well... it also makes it easier.. to not get attached, maybe like a reminder. That’s all he’ll ever be to me.. my boss. If I say Nightmare then I take the risk of getting attached”
And Ccino without thinking says “Aren’t you already attached?”
Oof well I could keep going but let’s stop here before I get carried away.
It’s mostly a ramble idk if it’s really a headcanon?
