Do we know what was the official status of kanera? Because i always assumed they were common-law married

I mentioned i was thinking about rewatching Star Wars Rebels to my brother and well i guess now we're watching The Clone Wars (for the first time) and then SWR (for the second time) together

My only problem with that is we got to get through seven seasons of TCW before we get to SWR and tbh i didnt like SWR's season one all that much... so now i gotta sit through eight seasons until we watch what i wanna watch

I know TCW is good but the fact i mentioned watching 1 four season show and ended up agreeing to go watch that and 1 seven season show is kinda funny but in like a ironic way

As far as i remember they didnt do this with Sabine's family, but i love it when characters dont change languages when it comes to referring to what they call specific person. For example i call my grandma "abuela" whether im speaking english or spanish, and i'll call my mother "mom" when im talking in both spanish and english.

I just think itd be neat if Sabine kept confusing people when she mentions "my brother" (which is actually kinda funny since theyve only met like twice), so to differentiate between them she starts calling and/or referring to her mando brother and her non-mando brother by the names in their native languages. 

With so many foundlings of all ages in mando society im surprised they dont have words (that i could find at least) that specify the non-mando side of the family. Maybe because most foundlings are orphans?

I have so many questions on mando marriage but right now im only gonna ask this: mandos can marry non-mandos and said non-mandos can remain non-mandos*, but do they receive anything that marks them of belonging to their clan/as a mando spouse?

*im pretty sure. I know part of the code is you have to raise your children to be mandos but i dont remember anything about your spouse converting

Im a personal fan of the non-mando spouses (or honorary non-mando members) receiving necklaces with beskar pendants of the clan animal/mascot, but i dont know if thats considered a valid use of rare beskar. Read one fic where they got the clan signet put on their already existing non-beskar armor and that was a pretty cool idea. But as far as i know theres no actual canon answer to this (if you know leave a reply!)

Since you all like my post on how Din does Keldabe Kisses (the mando helmet forehead touch) heres some for Sabine

She ABSOLUTELY teaches Jacen about it. Sabine doesnt do these often but she'll do it practically all the time for Jacen. Its very cute. She'll squat down until he can reach her head and he'll come in relatively fast for someone who's not wearing a helmet. Every time they connect one or both of them says "bonk!"

Pre-Battle of Lothal when the Ghost family was all together she didnt do it at all really. That doesnt mean no one ever did it to her, knowingly or unknowingly

Kanan knew what it was, and told Hera about it. Ezra kinda picked up that it was a Thing™️ but doesnt actually know anything about it. Zeb notices when it happens but doesnt give it much thought. Chopper actually gets the most of them and he has no clue

Whenever Sabine would sit on the floor or crouch next to Chopper, sometimes (usually if he made her laugh) she'd lean a little bit forward and bump her helmet on his dome.

One time Zeb picks Sabine up in a bear hug and ends up with the side of his head on the top of her helmet. Its not a keldabe kiss but thats the closest they ever got

One time Sabine was excited to see Ezra after a fight, one where they were worried he was hurt, and she did a not very gentle keldabe kiss to the side of his refurbished stormtrooper helmet when they were all taking turns hugging him. She gives him similar treatment when they finally reunite post-Battle of Lothal

When Hera would leave the cockpit for her sleep cycle and she left Sabine and Ezra in charge, she'd often give them a kiss goodnight. She'd kiss the top of Ezra's head before pressing her forehead to the top of Sabine's helmet (if she was wearing it. If not she got a kiss too). Its not technically a keldabe kiss, but the intention and general gesture are the same

The first time she "bonked" Kanan it was when they were disguised as stormtroopers. They were trying to hug in victory but all the armor got in the way. They ended up just grabbing the insides of each others elbows and quickly bumping their heads together. Which is in fact a keldabe kiss, Sabine just didnt know that Kanan knew what that was. They have a few more over the years. Once Sabine was sad/upset and sitting at the table, so Kanan talked to her and when he got up to leave he leaned down to press his forehead to hers for a moment. Neither of them were wearing a helmet, but Sabine knew what he was doing. Their last one was done after Kanan was blinded. She gave him a hard bump to his metal eye-covering. They both laughed.

She doesnt get many when she moves back to the Wren Stronghold. Before she left for the academy, her dad would do it all the time to her and Tristan and even Ursa. It wasnt always forehead to forehead, but there was a lot of helmet bumping initiated by him (forehead to top of helmet, side of helmet to side of helmet when hugging, etc). He was the only one to give her any for the first few months after she came back

Clan Wren likes to bump helmets with returning members (if both are suited up). She remembers when they finally let her back in on that. She teared up a little inside her helmet

Ursa has always been more distant when it came to giving physical affection (she is mostly okay with receiving it, if its in private) outside of pats on the back or shoulder. When Sabine returned she was very surprised to (eventually) get a hug from her. These days they really only bump heads as a greeting when they havent seen each other in a while

Her and Tristan never really do it. They've done it twice in their lives and both times it occurred on a battlefield

With talk of a live action Ezra they better have his eyes glow or at least be a real unnatural shade of blue. Thats my favorite part of his design.

When i say i want live action Ezra and/or Sabine i mean they make a 1 (one) episode appearance in whatever show outside of a like calling-all-characters-finale-battle. I mean Ezra and Sabine arguing like the siblings they are during the lulls in the episode. I mean Ezra answering a comm from a (continuously unseen) Hera or Zeb. I mean Sabine mentioning something her "second dad" (Kanan) taught her. And of course, Sabine paints something that no character notices until they leave and it remains there in the background of all the shots for the remainder of the show's run

If anyone deserves to have a purple lightsaber outside of Mace Windu it is Ezra Bridger

(well actually i think his entire line should have one at least once in their lives but Ezra is currently the only one still alive)

I recently saw a few posts have touched on this since theres talk of having a live action!Ezra set post-Purgil and i wanna throw my thoughts out there

So first off: he! is! Mace's! descendant! If anyone gets a purple lightsaber they should be related to Mace in some way (this case not DNA but through the student-teacher lineage) or be very like him in personality (ive heard people say Mace and Ezra are pretty similar in motivation if not personality but i dont know much about Mace so i wont go into that). Mace wouldve been the equivalent of Ezra's great grandpa (great grand-master?)

Secondly, color coding and complimentary colors!! The entire Ghost crew is color coded green (Hera's skin, Kanan's shirt, Zeb's jumpsuit, Ezra's gloves) and orange (Hera's pants, Ezra's entire outfit, Sabine's s2 armor, Chopper); and to a lesser extant purple (Zeb's fur, Sabine's s3 armor). So right away purple is one of the main colors!

But the main part of this argument is complimentary colors (colors that are opposites). All these colors are secondary colors, but Ezra's colors are specifically the complimentary colors of orange and blue, in his clothes and his hair/eyes. Ezra wears a yellow-orange color, and yellow is complimentary to purple.

When you design a character/costume colors are important. Most people pick analogous colors (neighboring colors) as the main outfit with complementary color pieces as accessories and accents. Most of SWR is clashy instead of pretty but anyways SWR did this with Ezra's eyes and hair (also seen with Hera and Zeb's clothes vs skin/fur and Sabine's s1-2 hair vs armor), and a purple lightsaber would be a nice accent in this color combination (offset the orange while complimenting his eyes)

Theres also lightsaber color meanings, which is a weaker argument so i wont go that much into it. Purple represents the in-between, the "ambiguous" and the "uncertain". The standard definitions use this to describe force use (using both Light and Dark) and/or morals. While Ezra did have a brush with the Dark Side, he is pretty solid in the Light these days. However, in the general live action consensus Ezra is almost a Jedi but not quite. His is arguably in between a Jedi and just a Light Force User. The general (live action works) consensus is a fairly narrow view on how to be a Jedi. A lonely path with no "attachments" or "desires" (and a bunch of other things i cant remember atm). Ezra is almost solely motivated by his love and loyalty for his planet and family. Ezra (and from what i gather most of the Windu and Jinn lineages as well) bends the rules of How To Be A Jedi around himself, still inside the box but on his terms.

So does Sabine wear considerably less armor than any other Mando weve seen out of choice? Or was it because she was like 14 when she was disowned and therefore was smaller/shorter than she is now?

Here she is next to animated Bo-Katan. Bo-Katan's armor is wider and taller with less "empty" space. She has bigger collar plates, wider (but shorter) shoulder plates, three chest pieces that are both individually larger and wider than Sabine's two, she has three plates on the front of her pelvis and two on her hips/thighs, even her gauntlets and clothing look thicker than Sabine's. This is why i think Sabine might've out grown her armor (and she hasnt been home to fix it/her epilogue armor had another chest plate added) because it just looks so much smaller on her despite the only major differences in their individual frames being height

Live action Bo-Katan is even more covered (and with visible cloth/padding layers)

Heres the only full body image i could find with the gif search. But you can see a good chunk of her outfit is actually just belts. She does have shin armor on top of her boots, but thats about it for her legs while her stomach and upper chest are pretty exposed

And here Sabine is with her own clan (family members). I know Sabine is a artist and very much a individual, but with how covered every one else is i feel like her armor was either made for tactical choices or she simply out grew it. With how attached she is to it ("this armor has been in my family for 500 years... the blood, the battles, its all there") i highly doubt she wouldve sold any pieces

Sabine having never done the keldabe kiss with the Ghost Crew and so the first time Ezra sees a keldabe kiss its her and Tristan violently wacking their helmeted heads together repeatedly in a empty room and basically looking like lunatics

Is there anything more mandalorian then a gesture of affection having started off as fighting move (keldabe kiss/headbutt)

Idk why there arent more The Mandalorian and Star Wars Rebels crossovers. Wether its Din and Grogu with Sabine and Jacen (and/or Hera) or with Sabine and Ezra

Like first off Grogu and Jacen are two green force sensitive children who have a non-blood related mandalorian family member. How is there not more fics on just that???!!

Din and Sabine actually have a lot in common. Well #1 is they are both mandalorian but other than that. Both have carried and used the darksaber. Both have been banished from their families (Sabine by her clan and Din by his tribe). They also both have been nomadic for a good chunk of their lives. Din found a mandalorian family as a child while Sabine found a non-mandalorian family as a teenager

And then you have Ezra, who learned the force from a former padawan, giving him a somewhat incomplete education, and Grogu, who actually lived and trained (and is shown to remember) in a jedi temple under real masters. I think they could learn a lot from each other. The heart of both their stories is found family, and i think Ezra would take that and find a way for Grogu to channel his attachment and fear in a much safer way. Also he literally has nothing going on right now besides find a way home and reunite with his family. Thats it after that his schedule is clear.

On another star wars cultures kick and do we know what happens to clans when mandalorians get married? Like do both spouses move into the same clan or do they both retain their birth clans or do they become a part of both??? What clan do their children get? 1 clan? 2 clan? 4 clans?

The only example im aware of is Clan Wren with Sabine's immediate family. Both her parents (i think) have the same last name ("Wren") and both she and her brother have the same last name ("Wren"). When we meet her mom, Ursa, she is/seemingly is the head member. Sabine's dad is a type of hostage, so we don't see him within the greater clan dynamic. So it looks like when they got married they both became Clan Wren, with either Ursa becoming the head member herself or possibly filling the role for her husband, and that their children only inherited the one clan

EDIT: wiki says Alrich chose to become a Wren when they got married. By specifying that idk if that means thats a normal thing or not a normal thing
