OTP IDEA

Pick two or more of your OTPs, OT3s, etc all from different movies/tv shows/books/whatever

Now choose which OTP is the cops on a stakeout and which is the OTP being staked out

Either can be in any stage of their relationship (pre, friends, engaged, married, divorced, whatever) this will effect how things play out

Say OTP 1 is the cops and the others are OTP 2 (you can have more and they can be different jobs like they work with one of them)

Let’s start with OTP 1

So OTP 1 is staking out OTP 2 and they’ve got all the works. Cameras, hearing, everything. (They soon regret this as they are stuck watching OTP 2 going at it later on) And they set up in someone’s home (can be another OTP’s) thinking they’ll only be there a few hours, one night at the most. They’re stuck there over a week. But since they weren’t planning that long they didn’t bring much, say a blanket, some granola bars and whatever they’re wearing is all they got. So they’re stuck in this room with one large couch and all this equipment for over a week. Depending on their personalities and the stage in their relationship will decide if they’re at each other’s throats.

Let’s check out OTP 2:

Maybe one or both of them are involved with illegal activity or OTP 1 has the wrong person(s) but either way have no clue they’re being watched. Again depends on personalities and relationship stage. So we’re getting either or a combo of bickering, flirting, fighting, tension, love confessions, fluff, smut, etc.

Let’s not forget OTP 1 is stuck watching all this and are hating life or placing bets on what’s happening next

Here’s where they know they hate life and all the fancy state of the art equipment. About three or four days into the stakeout OTP 2 has a great smut chapter and the next chapter is poor OTP 1 being forced to witness this and all the rounds that come after for the rest of the night

I really don’t think Leo and Piper had a friendship-at-first-sight thing in Wilderness School. And I believe because of that they have the strongest friendship in the entire series.

I enjoyed countless interpretations of how Leo and Piper first met, but most of them seemed to be missing one element that was part of their character development in the first book: their trust issues.

Both characters went through tough times before they crossed paths. Leo was a true juvenile delinquent, getting through six homes and probably have been in the system for far too long, he had a routine simply to survive. Piper sought her father’s attention desperately that she was willing to break the law for it. And because of that mistake, she ended up being more distant to her father. Before that, she didn’t like her schools and her general life style. What made her dislike it? Is it the people around her, people like Isabella and Tristan McLean’s former assistant? She was probably making mistakes that she didn’t know were mistakes at all.

They couldn’t be trusting everyone right away in a school that’s supposed to be a kid’s version of a correctional campus. They probably knew each other’s names a week later, and just saw them in the hallways. Maybe they were friendly to each other, but they weren’t friends. At this stage, they were both defensive to the people around them. They just don’t trust each other yet. It’s not natural for a girl who tries to isolate herself  to befriend a guy who explicitly hits on girls and joke around with bullies despite being relentlessly beaten by the same people anyway.

Something must have happened that took down the walls they set up for themselves to be friends in the first place, with Piper trusting Leo enough to tell him that her father was a Hollywood star. They cared each other enough that Leo kept track of her vegetarian diet. As much as everyone like to celebrate Leo and Piper’s friendship because it’s laid back and cute, they forget the darker and mature aspects of it, and this is proof of what it is.

Leo finally settling their trust issues between them in The Lost Hero was a huge step for both of their character development. People like to quote this to show a solid evidence of their friendship, but if you look more closely, you’ll see it goes more deeper than it seems, and I wished Rick Riordan explored it more.

No one talks about the Leo Piper friendship enough and it was one of my favorite things in the series
