Alright the main reason i made this post was so id have somewhere to keep my multiverse April O'Neil art notes

Lets go backwards in time since i prefer the two-number designations

AU designations are Mutant Mayhem!April, Mayhem!April, MM!April, 2023!April, and 23!April

Her movie just came out so theres not a lot of ref photos yet

I dont like how this picrew came out but does any picrew capture Ms. Fox's beauty?

I dont care what officials say this is NOT just the cartoon version of 90s!April she is a completely different character

Live action April actually has two actresses!

This April is Live Action!April, 1990s!April, 1990!April, 90s!April, and 90!April

Alright these next two are comic lines so there are MULTIPLE designs within each. I chose what seemed to be the most consistant

So this design really began in 1990, but the comic line started in 1988. I have actually never seen her in any multiverse works, so i can only assume her designation would be Archie!April. I however pike using the two digit year, so i guess id call her 88!April

I lied 1987 comes next and then the comics

This April is from the 1987 cartoon. Her designations are cartoon!April, 1987!April, and 87!April

Last but not least the OG April!

Her designations are Mirage!April, Comic!April (not to be confused woth IDW!April, who is not pictured here bc i forgot to research her), 1984!April, and 84!April. I assume OG!April would be her as well, but ive seen that title mistakenly given to 87!April before (correct in terms of OG cartoon)

She turned out pretty good! Might give her a second fan bc this is the finale fight. Time to draw the 2012 boys

Currently compiling a list of all their alternate outfits* to get a sense of their style. Gonna post them here so i can see them all together

*im not including outfits like disguises or apirl's various work uniforms because thats not personal style. Not sure if i should include april's s2 finale ninpo look as technically she didnt choose it and it was clearly to mimic karai's but also the boys finale looks are very personalized so idk

0. April O'Neil

Although traditionally a girls name it is a possible option. Can just be his name or there can be a funny reason for it (named after grandma, parents wanted a girl, etc)

1. Abriel O'Neil

According to the name website im using its a hebrew name. Sounds really close to "april". Could have a running gag of ppl thinking his name is "Gabriel"

2. August O'Neil

Ive seen like three other versions of boy!April and all of them were named "August". It easy to see why (April is girl named after a month beginning with "a", August is a boy named after a month beginning with "a"). Im personally not a big fan but i cannot deny it gives me the exact same vibes as the canon name. Could be called "O'Neil" for continuity's sake

3. Neil O'Priel

Haha it rhymes. Sounds similar to canon name. Still has the "O'_" which is the irish version of "son of". Could go by either "Neil" or "O'Priel"

4. Neilson O'Prell

Would prob introduce himself as "Neil O'Prell". "O'Prell" sounds close to "April". Could go by either "Neil" or "O'Prell".

5. O. Neil April

Here the "O" is the abbreviation for the firstname (not decided yet but my brain keeps substituting "Oscar"). Sounds like canon name. Could go by "Neil" or "April" or even "O. Neil" which wouldve started as a joke

6. Priel O'Neil

Again rhymes lol. Sounds similar to canon name. Also a hebrew name.

So i was thinking about the multiverse and how there has to be at least one universe where all the ninja turtles are girls/raised as daughters (im a firm believer in every version of Splinter looking at these baby turtles and going "i have no idea what sex they are so im just gonna call them all 'he'"), so i decided to play around with a full on genderswap au

Ive run into a bit of a problem regarding names. I really really want to keep the turtle's real names and nicknames, as 1) i feel they are essential to all tmnt continuities and 2) the nicknames aren't hardcore masculine names these days and therefore highly likely they would use them

The big problem is April. Ive looked at 49 different versions and combinations of names for boy!April and narrowed them down to these:

They're in alphabetical order. My big focus here was the pronunciation sounding like "ae-pril" and "neel"

"April" itself has a (documented) history of only being a feminine name, which is why i was playing around with different spellings and similar pronunciations or swapping it to boy!April's lastname. Im not a huge fan of "August" but i have seen it used for every version of boy!April ive seen

Narrowed it down some more!
