A fanart I did a few months ago for the 4th season of My Hero Academia. Finally.
(Hello, Tumblr, I hope people are still here.)
The front cover I did for the @todomomorisingzine! But the whole thing is yuuge, and the back cover has a little surprise. Pre-orders are ongoing, so if you like Todomomo, come show your love! https://todomomorisingzine.bigcartel.com/
Hello! I just wanna say that I really love your art! Also, I kinda wanna ask you for a few tips for shading since I really suck at that and you're so GOOD AT IT :DDD sorry if this was asked before and thanks in advance if you replied ^^
Hi! Thank you so much! Here’s how I shade digitally. I use Clip Studio Paint EX, and draw with XP Pen Artist 16.
Sketch.
Here’s a sketch of Deku. I make sure I’m happy with it because I don’t want to be changing major things in the lineart phase.
At this point I also draw in the guide for the shadows/lights. I try to think of items that are “easier” to shade when I do this and imagine that as a replacement to what I’m actually shading. In other words, I think of Deku’s hair as “fluffy clouds”, because if I don’t think of it as human hair, the task suddenly feels less daunting. …Does that make sense?
Here’s more examples of what I mean. Deku’s hair is made out of several simple shapes like this:
What I generally do is to break down one complex item into many simple items.
Lineart. I draw a lot of random lines/shapes when drawing my lines to avoid the super clean lineart look:
I draw more shapes on his hair and start filling them in.
Let’s see that again:
Here’s the finished lineart. I went ahead and gave him a bigger smile so he looks more like Deku.
A little color…:
And done! I hope this helps somehow TuT
Mirio, your eyes are somehow difficult to draw. It took me several tries to make him look at Overhaul directly cause Mirio’s eyes are almost “locked” to only look straight in front of him.
Anyway, I’m very excited for Season 4! Can’t wait for October.
I drew the boys trying to run from a crowd of fangirls.
Hope you’re having a good year so far.
I drew some of my favorites from Class 1-A VS. Class 1-B! This was a lot of fun to do. Monoma is quickly becoming my fave from 1-B.
I wanted to draw Shinsou with his new hair so bad. Also looking forward to these two fighting each other again. Plus Ultra!
Midoriya Izuku and Todoroki Shouto, but with their costumes, personalities, and quirks swapped. This was so enjoyable to draw! Deku looks so serious.
Midoriya Izuku and Bakugou Katsuki, but with their costumes, personalities, and quirks swapped. I had to put Bakugou’s face on a separate layer and hide it while drawing, cause my head hurts when I see him smiling like a normal person.
Inktober Day 31, Bakusquad VS. Dekusquad, Tug of War. They all give their very best. And that’s it for Inktober! That was a great ride.
Inktober Day 30, Skydiving, with Midoriya Izuku, and his good friend, Todoroki Shouto. Izuku invites Shouto to a fun adventure so he can take a break from his stressful family life, and also so he can smile once in a while.
Inktober Day 25, with Midoriya Izuku, and Katsuki Bakugou, Muay Thai. “’The image of “victory” I have inside me is of you. I want to beat you.’”
I wasn’t able to do yesterday’s inktober (got home too late), so here’s a two-page spread for my Sports AU inktober for days 18-19. This is Class 1-A boys (except Mineta) in the locker room after they lost a game. My hand hurts from the inking, and I didn’t expect it to take too long to do, so apologies for the errors..
Inktober Day 12, Tennis, with Midoriya Izuku, from My Hero Academia. His hair is fluffy and fun to draw.
“Get off me, Deku!” Inktober Day 5, American Football, (or Gridiron) with Bakugou Katsuki, and Midoriya Izuku. Bakugou’s helmet got removed but it’s OK, he doesn’t need it cause he’s Bakugou. What sport should I draw next?
