Be In My Eyes - Chapter 31
You can read the previous chapters here or on AO3. Hi everyone! I'm back (kind of) with BIME! This is technically Part II, but I decided to continue the chapter numbers instead of starting from 0. A few notes before this chapter: 1. Content Warning for hospital and medical emergencies. 2. I changed the POV format, but I'm not sure how much it'll stay like this. Lemme know what you think! 3. I am not a medical professional and I tried to fact check as much as I could, so if anything is wrong, please be nice about it. Additional Tumblr note: I'm no longer going to cross-post the full chapters on Tumblr, you will have to finish reading it on AO3 (don't worry, it should show up even if you don't have an account or aren't signed in!).
Percival de Rolo walked out of the small airfield located at the base of the Alabaster Sierras. The change in temperature from the warm concrete building to the freezing cold air of the region brought back memories of past travels, especially those of when Percy was younger and still had to accompany his parents on their multiple business trips. He hailed a taxi at the main road, loaded his suitcase in the trunk, and sat on the backseat with his personal messenger bag. Percy couldn’t help but smile in anticipation of how his younger sister, Cassandra, would react when she saw the gifts he brought her: a beautiful dress made by one of the best seamstresses in Emon and a snow globe with the city’s landscape.
He still beat himself for leaving Cassandra behind. Percy knew he shouldn’t have done so, but getting his Engineering degree at University of Emon was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and his sister was safe with Father Yennen—or so Percy hoped. It was true that Father Yennen was a long-time family friend, but the man was still the one in charge of the orphanage, and Percy could not forgive himself if Cassandra ever felt like he had abandoned her like many other kids had been. Cassandra still had him, her only family.

“Can we talk?” with Vaxleth?👀
"Can we talk?" Vax stopped Keyleth as she was about to push past him and to the breakfast table. He held her bicep gently, not holding her in place, but just stopping her movement.
Keyleth jerked her arm out of his grasp, "I've said what I needed to say. Clearly you weren't listening."
She tried to move past him again, but Vax stepped in front of her. She was just a bit taller than him so he had to look up to meet her gaze. There was desperation in his brown eyes. That was what made her pause.
"Keyleth, please," Vax said softly. "You're right, I wasn't listening to you. And if you let me say what I need to and you don't like it, I swear that I will leave you alone." When she said nothing he repeated, "Please." And his voice broke.
Keyleth swallowed and hugged herself, "What do you need to say?"
Vax nodded as if psyching himself up. "I was wrong about so many things. My relationship with the Raven Queen should have nothing to do with my relationship to you." Keyleth looked at her feet. "And you are a brilliant and creative and-and kind woman and I should have never insinuated that I knew what was best for you."
Vax took one of her hands in both of his. "I can't promise that I will always be smart, especially when it comes to matter of the heart. But what I can promise is love."
Keyleth's eyes flashed to his. He looked so nervous, it was adorable.
Upon their eyes meeting, Vax seemed to gain confidence. He kissed the back of her hand, "Love, as long as you'll have me."
With tears in her eyes and a frog in her throat, Keyleth touched his cheek. He leaned into it like a starving man. And she said, "Okay."
ooo fun prompts! How about “You’re shaking” with Vaxleth?
Keyleth spit blood out of her mouth, the metallic taste clinging to her teeth and tongue. They were all worse for wear, clothes torn. There was a massive cut on Keyleth's leg from her ankle to knee. She leaned heavily on her staff and limped towards Pike.
Out of nowhere, Vax stepped in front of her. His dark eyes were wide with panic as he looked over her. He held her by the shoulders as he accessed her. "Kiki, you're shaking."
"I'm bleeding to," she snapped. She tried to jerk away from him, but she stumbled backwards and started to fall. It was Vax that caught her, arms around her waist. She almost growled, "Let go."
Vax's hands left her so suddenly you'd think she was on fire. He stepped back, hands lifted in the air. The concern in him shifted to shame and guilt. He opened his mouth to say something more, but he must have caught the anger in her eyes because he turned away and walked off.
Keyleth gripped her staff with white knuckles. The skin where he touch her still tingled. It made her want to rip her skin off. He loved her but it wasn't enough. She wasn't enough.
She was never fucking enough. Not for her people or her dad, not even for her own fucking party.
"Keyleth?" Pike stood in front of her and looked up at her with a kind smile. "Can I heal you?"
Keyleth swallowed, "No." She stepped back. Her blood was dripping into the grass. It hurt something awful, but not as bad as the chasm in her chest.
Pike tried to protest, but Keyleth just walked away. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Vax watching her. She didn't give him the satisfaction of looking his way.
I dont remember if you write m9 or not but if you do, #9 for beau and Fjord? If you don't then for vaxleth pretty pls
"Stop talking for just a second." (inspo sparked more for vaxleth!)
Vax was one of the quieter members of the group. He wasn't shy by any means, he just didn't talk unless he had something to say. Not like Keyleth who would ramble as long as she could breathe.
But Vax had been talking so much recently. And it was all shit about the Raven Queen and fate and Keyleth just couldn't fucking stand it anymore. They're all sitting around the dinner table eating and Vax is saying something about fate or some shit and Keyleth snaps at him, "Stop talking for just a second!"
Everyone falls silent and looks at her. Vax's eyes are full of hurt as he meets her gaze.
Fire burns in her veins. "I don't want to hear about how we're all connected and that we're on the right path. There is no right path, there is no fate. Some goddess isn't going to decide how I live my life."
And Keyleth stormed out of the room. She heard the rest of her party start whispering, asking what her problem was. Keyleth ignored them all and came to the front steps of the castle.
The cool fall air cleared her lungs. Letting the wind touch her skin and ruffle her hair always calmed her, ever since she was a kid.
The door opened again behind her and she heard soft footfalls behind her. "Fuck off," she growled. Vax just stood at her side silently. "Leave me alone, Vax. I don't want a pep talk."
"That's not why I'm here." His voice was carried on the wind, just brushing her ears. Vax's fingers brushed against the back of her hand. She let him interlock their fingers.
He didn't say anything more. Neither did she. Somehow it still made her feel just a little better.
Little Fearne sketch I did in class yesterday
"Do you want to know where this arrow is going to end up?"
I tried another new style. I didn't like him at first, but now I find him cute.
I'm definitely in love with Vax, and I just adore Pike to the same extent, and their duo of friends is something incredibly cute!
Absolutely sure I will draw more of them two together in future
