My Little Pony Color Challenge

Curious if anyone would be interested in a My Little Pony Color Challenge. What would a My Little Pony Color Challenge be? Where you would be taking pictures of ponies of one particular color each month with prompts given. There would be a different color each month and no more than 14 prompts total for the month. Those prompts would be the same every month. You could take pictures for as many or as few of the prompts as you wanted.

As some colors do not have a lot of ponies for them you could base that month's color off of the pony's body color, the pony's hair color or even the pony's eye color. Hopefully this would help with giving more options for some lesser used colors (such as red). Ponies can be from any generation! HQG1C and custom ponies are welcome too! If you only have one pony that fits a month's color that's okay. Perfectly fine to use the same pony for multiple or all prompts.

Prompts would be more open to interpretation. Hopefully that would make it more fun and less of a chore. Something like say "daily life", could be a pony cooking, watching a movie, shopping, date night … anything you like (obviously do keep it safe for all ages, please!).

I'm looking at this as a way to challenge myself, anyway, to take pictures of more ponies instead of just my favorites all the time. Thought this might be fun for others too. Also total win for everyone, as we'd all have more pretty My Little Pony pictures to look at. 😍

The Color Challenge would not be starting until January 2024. Asking this in advance to know if anyone else would be interested in whatever prompts I come up with and the color selected for each month. Everything for the entire year would be posted late December to give people a chance to look it over and decide if it is something they'd want to participate in too.

Okay, dollblr, I need your help

My friend's doll collection was stolen on May 19th by his shitty landlord. Charges have been filed, but the landlord and the moving company he used to transport the dolls and other stolen property have been uncooperative in giving the information needed to trace and recover the dolls.

I'm asking that this post be shared as far and wide as possible so he has some hope of getting his most beloved and distinctive dolls back.

If anyone sees a massive dump of Ringdolls and Dollfie Dreams on Mercari, eBay, or Facebook, especially in/around/from the Louisville, KY area, please contact me so I can let him know.

I will update as we assess the full extent of the loss, but the dolls we're asking people to keep an eye out for at the moment are

Any dolls that appear in a large group with these should be reported.

I will update tomorrow with more specifics on the missing Ringdolls and DD/DD mods when we've had a chance to sit down and assess the extent of the theft.

UPDATE

We've spent the day talking to estate brokers, and so far nobody has unloaded any major collections. They've been given photos and told to call if someone tries to unload it.

Louisville police are refusing to file charges (literally, just said "yeah okay" and then never did it) and are just playing hot potato with them. Station A says they don't file grand theft charges, go see Station B. Station B says they don't file grand theft charges, go see Station A. Oh wait here's a number to call... except it's just the Crimestoppers tip line. Crimestoppers isn't part of law enforcement, they can't file shit.

Next to Chicago, Louisville KY is the worst place in the country to be a victim of a crime if you want justice.

They're trying to get a lawyer, but for the collection to ever be recovered, even the feds have said they need to hire a private investigator to get enough evidence for an indictment since the sheriff and metro PD are part of the crime.

He's trying to sell what little he had in storage to finance it, but the market can be finicky, and the sooner we can move on this, the better.

We're asking folks to donate to their legal/investigative fight, since it's looking like we'll have to take the long way around to get anywhere on this. Even if you can't donate, please share. Every little bit helps.

Anyone know how to brush out matted g3 glittery hair? I just obtained a bumblesweet from a thrift store. Shes in pretty good condition other than her hair. I have a few of my sisters g3s and although their hair was much nicer it was still hard to comb and i was worried about ruining it :(

My Little Pony - Japanese Commercial

Were these just pony toys that they gave the My Little Pony label to, or did Hasbro just design brand new toys for Japan? I guess these weren’t exactly a hit, but can you imagine if they were successful? I really want to know how they would evolve over the years like the originals did.

Takara was a Japanese company that created the robot toys that would become the original G1 Transformers after Hasbro imported them and gave them a backstory. 

As a result of the Transformers connection, Hasbro was on great terms with Takara.  My guess is that these ponies were designed by Takara with Hasbro’s blessing. :)

Unfortunately they don’t seem to have been very successful, but they are a very interesting piece of pony history!  I believe the common ones average around $1,000 on the secondhand market.

Since my printer will be resin, maybe I could string them that way they would have better articulation?

There are also fakies of the babies that are relatively common (I mean not “common-common”, but way cheaper than the real adults) which aren’t jointed . . . Those might be good candidates for 3D printing!

Hey guys, guess who finally set up a gallery of her sales?

No, it’s not everything - I have literally hundreds of ponies who need homes. But I gathered up ALL of the G3s, as a start! I figured some folks might be shopping for Christmas gifts (for themselves or others), and if you’re a G3 fan, this will be a great spot for you to hunt! 

I’d say 80-90% of the ponies were rescued from bait or beater lots on eBay, so a lot of them have minor flaws. IMO, none of them are baity enough to warrant being customized, so if you’re looking for some new friends with life experience, come on and look through the gallery!
