More pony wash progress! I was trying to find the “before” photo, and these three - Princess Sunbeam, 25th Anniversary Snuzzle and 40th Anniversary Blue Belle - and they all came from foxandbeevintage as well as Wigwam from a few days ago! And oh man, these poor babies have been waiting for a bath since October 2022! 🤣 Sorry ponies! But you turned out so nice!! 💖

Thoughts on MLP Make Your Mark Chapter 4, Episode 1: Bridlewoodstock
(with spoilers)
The Bridlewoodstock special definitely had MLP's 40th anniversary in mind, even though it isn't specifically mentioned. Really fun special! And first ever cartoon appearances of G1 Minty, Snuzzle, and Blue Belle. <3
The antagonists are also reimagined from G1 MLP 'n Friends!
According to an article in GamesRadar, IDW’s My Little Pony 40th Anniversary Special comic will be 100 pages long and feature three separate stories, and will be released on July 12, 2023.
The comic’s three main covers each represent one of the stories, and were respectively illustrated by Keisha Okafor, Amy Mebberson and Rose Bousamra.
Synopsis: “Forty years ago, Butterscotch, Blue Belle, Minty, Snuzzle, Cotton Candy, and Blossom cantered onto shelves and into the hearts of children everywhere. Now, join IDW as we celebrate decades of ponies, toys, and friendship! First, from Sam Maggs and Keisha Okafor, travel back to the ‘80s in a story about four young girls, their My Little Pony toys, and the power of friendship and imagination as they try to save their horse barn from closing. Then, a story from Jeremy Whitley and Amy Mebberson, where Sunny Starscout and her pals learn more about Equestrian history and a place called Dream Valley. And finally, from Tony Fleecs and Brianna Garcia, in 2023, an aunt and her My Little Pony-loving niece have to rely on some dusty G1 toys for entertainment when the power goes out.”
Three more covers have been revealed for IDW’s My Little Pony 40th Anniversary Special comic, which will be released later this year.

Translation:
Butterscotch: ???
[Sign reads “Station”]
Sky Flier: A homing pigeon.
“Piccione viaggiatore” literally translates to “traveling pigeon.” She has a little suitcase and everything!
@naamahdarling Thanks for the explanation, it makes even more sense now! Can I ask what “Doccia forzata” means? Google Translate failed me on that one.
Is it at all possible that the strip continued? I’m Italian & I have no doubts about it saying “forced shower”. Considering it’s apparently under the name of the author of the strips, I imagine it’s a title - maybe the characters get caught up in the rain later on? Otherwise it’s absolutely nonsensical.
Hmm, I don’t think it’s continued, I think these ones were like newspaper comic strips where they would just be a few panels based on a single pun or joke. Maybe the title card was supposed to be for a different comic and they mixed it up, because they actually got the pony names wrong. (Limone is Lemon Drop and I’m not sure who Filjberto is, but I think Skyflier is usually called Eva.)
Here’s another example of this kind of comic:
I’d love to get insight into the sign, since it seems to be based on an idiom? (Polly is Snuzzle.)
omg I love this one
Fashion label is Bronze Lucia, I’m going to see if they have any more . . .
Besides the prototypes of MLP G1, what was the first MLP char or toy ever created?
The first six ponies (Minty, Snuzzle, Blossom, Butterscotch, Blue Belle, and Cotton Candy) were all created at the same time and were the first ponies. They were the only ponies actually designed by Bonnie Zacherle (like, the entire designs, colors and symbols and everything.)
Blossom was named after her cat. :)
These ponies would later be called the Collector ponies in a mail order offer (the one that also offered So-Soft Satin 'n Lace, Lucky, and the Birthflower ponies), which is why fans now call that pose "the Collector pose".
But originally they were available in stores, first with flat feet and later that same year with concave feet (because the flat-foot pose was too tippy.)
As seen on eBay . . . I’m very curious about what’s on the record!
Redesigning Gen 1 Ponies! Next up is Blossom! 💙💖🤍
I was looking at the mail order leaflets on that accessory site and the Collector ponies (Cotton Candy, Blue Belle, etc) were offered as mail order ponies as early as 1985 and as late as 1991. They had quite a run!
