So... with what was shared yesterday on Facebook as a Google Street View find... I think we have located all the Blackpool Illuminations princess pony statues.
I'll be including both the 2008 auction photos shared back in the day on MLP trading post and the ponies current spottings.
First we have the most known one, Ruby in a garden center.
I can barely get everyone in here, but I’ll do my best; here’s my amazing PFF brag! “But Ponyguru, you didn’t go to PFF?” I know! But my pal @plasticbeeps offered to help me pick up the exclusive figure and plush!! 🤩 AND she found the FiveBelow figures for me before the con, and she even found me new baby G2s and baits, pins, a new princess and even a boy pony!! I don’t even know how she had time to run her own sales, but I am deeply appreciative for all of her help!!! 😭 Thank you a million times @plasticbeeps !!! 💖🌟💖 #mylittlepony #mlp #mylittleponyg1 #mlpg1 #mylittleponycollector #ponyfriendsforever #hqg1c #mylittleponyfriendshipismagic #mlpfim #ponygurubrag #mlpg4 #tradewinds

So how were the Big Brother/Adventure Boy ponies found or created? Could you please scan it in?
I don’t have this scanned in yet so for now I’ll summarize:
Princess Ruby (aka Princess Primrose) is excited about something she saw in the woods. She goes back into the woods with her dragon attendant, Sparks. Suddenly a pink truck drives up. Sparks is alarmed, but Princess Ruby is smiling–this is what she saw earlier. The truck is driven by Trucker (aka 4-Speed) who explains that he and his five friends–who are in the back of the truck–are looking for ADVENTURE. Princess Ruby tells them Ponyland is full of adventure and invites them to stay. Which they happily do.
Barnacle, Wigwam, and Chief did not exist as toys at this time, so they were introduced later.
They mention a few other pony birthdays, but I can't remember the ponies or dates off the top of my head. Also Brandy the dog's birthday.
Baby Lucky and Baby Half-Note have the same birthday thanks to their magical origins, and it's the same day as Spike's "special birthday". The special birthday is "given to a dragon once in every hundred years."
I think this means the dragons communally bestow the special birthday on a particular dragon, not that Spike is a hundred years old, but who knows really.
Princess Ruby and Princess Sapphire (aka Princess Primrose and Princess Royal Blue in the US) have the same birthday.
What about the princesses from G1? Are princesses always alicorns? I mean Misty and Tiffany are unicorns and Pegasus so would they be powerful v. Of that? They have metal cutie marks. That's pretty powerful.
I am not sure about G4, but in G1 there simply aren’t any alicorns, at all.
The first set of Princesses all have specific powers in the UK comics, where they’re named after gem stones (unlike in the US). They are … interesting. Their backstory is that they lived in the Dismal Desert until the other ponies found them and brought them back to Dream Castle. They don’t really rule per se. Majesty is still completely in charge. But they do try to help out. With mixed results.
Princess Amber (aka Starburst) - When amber lights flash around her head, she is called off on secret missions. Basically James Bond pony. She is pretty competent, although it’s noted “The other ponies know whenever Amber says ‘That’s no problem’, trouble is sure to follow.”
Princess Amethyst (aka Sparkle) - She loves helping people. She loves it soooo much. But when she decides to help someone, flowers magically appear, and then she corrals everyone around to try to figure out whose flowers they are and give them back. As a result, everyone goes around praying she will not try to help them.
Princess Sapphire (aka Royal Blue) - The wisest Princess. She shares a birthday with Princess Ruby. She often advises the others.
Princess Pearl (aka Tiffany) - She has a lot of empathy for others and cries easily. Fortunately, her tears turn to wishing pearls when she cries. This leads to some strange situations where the other ponies purposely try to make her cry. Usually by reading sad stories to her, but still.
Princess Aquamarine (aka Serena) - She’s very romantic and loves to daydream. Her daydreams often come true.
Princess Ruby (aka Primrose) - She’s indecisive and never finishes what she begins.
Each princess has a dragon attendant who helps her.
Sadly the second set of princesses (Moondust, Pristina, etc) were not sold in the UK, so no comic personalities for them.
