(Soooo happy to be done with this illustration!! hold tight for another Snape art ya'll)

Snape is just lonely man that craves peace. He likes to drink his coffee black, he likes his old books, a silence …
Just a little bit of silence. Hogwarts is noisy place with people he wished he wouldn’t see ever again.
Snape likes to wake up early, just to clear his mind before work. It makes him less grumpy. He doesn’t like eating in the Great Hall, when everyone could stare at him. Snape’s body language is closed. He usually hugs himself with hands or crosses arms in front of his chest. He wears closed clothes. He doesn’t show his skin.
At this early morning he woke up in cold sweat. Nightmares were his only friends. He sighed and stood up to go to the bathroom. He shaves his face with the sharpest blades. His facial hair was thick and grew fast. In the end of the day his face was grey and prickly. He is used to shaving so he never cuts himself even accidentally.
He drinks his coffee looking at the table his thoughts somewhere else. It was a new day, a new start. He sighed and walked out of his bedroom.
The Prank
ok alright I'm getting back on tumblr
gonna post a whole bunch of stuff I've drawn for the past... few years, yeah. only the best ones though!
Small Severus sketch before I work on the cool suggestions you gave me. Had to try out my watercolours on this paper!
Calling Snape a stalker, creepy, a racist, or a homophobe (which drives me crazy because he’s literally the only man of his generation who could pass as queer-coded and is especially marginalized and attacked for his appearance and for not fitting the alpha-male standards) or a woman-abuser (when canonically the characters he’s shown to be the least aggressive and most accommodating with are always women, while his relationships with men tend to be much more conflicted) just shows a complete lack of reading comprehension, not to mention blatant classism and a total ignorance about how power structures work and how they impact the lives and decisions of people in vulnerable situations. And when Marauders fans come in trying to whitewash their high-born heroes by making things up that don’t happen in canon, or when they fail to respond to a well-supported argument about class dynamics, it tells me one thing: the rainbow flags and Rowling hate are just a facade, and they have no real understanding of how discrimination and social inequality actually work at their root.

i don't care if others think it's silly or not that deep guys i love that snape stans actually read that books and memorized every one of his appearances, i love how we write essays upon essays about him, i love that we analyse him on a deeper level, i love that we acknowledge his flaws and complexities, and i love that we also treat other characters (think lily or remus) that way. i love that we can appreciate characters even when they are morally grey instead of fitting either in a good or evil box.
i think that's one of my issues with the marauders fandom (as in, why i'm not part of it, there's nothing wrong with it it's just not for me!). it feels so superficial sometimes, like it's all just about aesthetics and pinterest boards and character playlists. every character needs a fancast that looks like a conventionally attractive model or actor. which is fun and all but then the flaws that actually made them interesting are forgotten about or ignored, and instead they get a load of trauma porn as their fanon backstories or are simply twinkified for the sake of a ship that becomes their entire personality. aren't the canon characters much more interesting...?
*turns your cats into lps when you aren't looking*
He was sitting far away from the castle, from the noise of human voices. He was hiding from the jackal smiles of those who made his life unbearable. And that was the only way he felt alright.
