my hope for the next episode of jack and joker is that joke's dad will see him in the hospital, being sweet to grandma (maybe pushing her around on a wheelchair) and he later goes to see to "drop the bomb" that she shouldn't trust this man, he's a thief, he's been to prison. And Grandma will instead reveal not only that she knows, but that she can tell a sweet caring boy like him only acted up because his parents didn't care for and love him the way they should have, and that she isn't distrustful of him, only sorry he was fated to have parents who didn't deserve him

okay thinking about "attitude to personal property" as a defining character trait in j&j might seem a liiiittle obvious bc. thief show. but rose and p'nang talking about being absolutely committed to (rosé's) moral right to her legal property made it click in my mind-

#jack & joker#meta#intrasting. i think the attitude towards the debtors items intrigued me too#like‚ they can't steal the necklace bc it belongs to Arun and therefore would be morally wrong to steal#but stealing the items is seen as taking them back#not even Robin hood style taking from the rich and giving to the poor#which was seen with the bank robbery#bc surely taking the necklace would fall into that paradigm#but the debtors technically have loaned their items after borrowing money#despite the ethics of loan sharks#are the debtors still required to pay their loans back in Joke's eyes? is he trying to give them an opportunity to flee with their stuff?#how much does back giving his ring back relate to how he feels like he owes his body to his boss for his debt?#but felt within his rights to help steal back the necklace? was that just because he was caught up in it‚ or does it align with his ethics?#idk if any of that made sense but I'm definitely here for this line of thought!
