This might just be me stirring the pot, and this is just my opinion, but if you want to be angry with someone over the new limit on the number of tags allowed on an AO3 work, be mad at the assholes who decided it would be funny to create "fics" where the tags were the entire text of Moby Dick. Or The Great Gatsby. Or the Bee Movie.

AO3 got trolled hard and they still took the time to do the research, look at the numbers, and implement a fix that affects 0.5% of works on the Archive. Yes, that's 40,000 fics but considering the number of people who were unable to use the Archive at all during tag-pocalypse or whatever you want to call it, I think that's a fair trade.

I'm not someone who will ever get close to 75 tags on a work, and I'm sorry for those who are affected. I'm doing some research and I'm planning to write up some posts and make some tiktoks on how authors can still get their full meaning across within the tag limit.

But seriously, if you want to be pissed at someone? Be pissed at the assholes who ruined it for the rest of the class.
