This blog did not and will not send requests for bitcoin donations.

There seems to be a virus or some sort of malware going around causing blogs to “send out” chat messages to blogs that they follow asking for help with the purchase of certain items through donations of seemingly small amounts using bitcoin and adds a link to the message.

The message goes as following (at least the first message I got went like this): “Hi there buddy. I need help, I’m trying to buy a laptop and I can’t afford it. I’m about 0.36$ short, and I’d really appreciate if you could help me and transfer some money to me via bitcoin using this *link*.”

The small details in the message seems to have a few variations with the greeting, amount and purchased item showing up in different variations from formal to friendly, from 0.016 to 2$ and from a phone case to a laptop among others.

The blogs that are affected send out the messages to blogs that they follow for a long time mostly, so you are most likely to receive the message from a long time, active follower whose name you might recognize or a mutual etc. The blogs that are affected are not spam bots but actual active followers who follow the recipient for months or years and most likely the blogger who “sent” the message is unaware of the message being sent.

DO NOT OPEN THE LINK.

Opening up the link will cause the virus to spread even more and infect your computer/mobile with any sort of malware.

If you have received a message of that sort from this blog please know that it was not sent by me or within my control and ignore/delete the message without clicking the link.

Emergency Commissiosn

Hey guys, I’m about to open up Emergency commissions. My eight year old son, Zane, has had to have some blood work done recently. Today I finally heard back from his doctor. Hopefully I’ll be able to put this into words right.

They ran tests on his Immunoglobulin levels after I expressed concerns over how often he gets sick. We have Rheumatoid Arthritis on both my side, and my husbands side of the family. For those of you who don’t know what this is, it’s an auto-immune disease which can affect many different parts of the body. Essentially your own immune system attacks your own body tissue by mistake. It can affect the skin, eyes, lungs, heart and blood vessels, as well as the linings of the joints, causing swelling and inflammation.

My Father-in-law suffered from it and I watched him suffer for years before his untimely passing in 2014. It took SO much from him. His ability to draw and paint (which was his livelihood), his ability to walk and stand up straight. He was eventually unable to talk, and couldn’t speak above a whisper due to complications with several medications they had put him on. He barely weighed 80 lbs, because he couldn’t keep food down most days. It can do A LOT of harm. Not all cases are this bad, however. He was diagnosed after it had gotten really bad. 

My mother, also, was recently diagnosed with RA and is currently going through treatment options.

Anyways,l requested we have some tests ran, just to make sure everything was checking out okay with Zane. Apparently, most of the tests came back normal, but his Immunoglobulin levels are low and they want me to take him to Children’s hospital in Columbus soon for more testing. The problem is, we won’t have insurance soon, and we simply can’t afford it. But he NEEDS to get these tests done. He may even need transfusions of some sort (I wasn’t clear on this part, however, so I’m not sure what kind?) and I’m trying anything and everything I can to raise some extra money to hopefully help with this.
