"You and me we are going to be so happy Lex, were going to have such a wonderful life, so you can't die on me today, okay?" he pleaded as he stared at the love of his life, crushed and bleeding on the floor next to him. She smiled at him, with whispered promises on her lips of how long she was going to stay with him, and he lay down holding her hand and stroking her hair the way she had done for him all those years ago when they were just starting out.

He married her just the next day, in an ICU room in whatever the hell hospital they had ended up in when help had arrived, Mark couldn't care any less, because Lexie Grey had lived for him, she had married him, and he would spend the rest of his life letting her know just how much he loved her, and how glad he was that he found her, that he was able to put her back together with his words and his promises under that wing of a plane, because she had lived, and he would live the rest of his life for her.
