4 minutes 24 seconds of the reason why Peter Capaldi deserves every single award next year… Well, at least a BAFTA!!
His face says “That’s a bummer but it sounds about right”
i want a doctor who episode that’s just made up of five minute clips of “where-are-they-nows” for all the companions
i want to see amy typing stories at her typewriter and being frustrated with the lack of a backspace
i want rose and tentoo snuggling up to their second baby as they sip steaming cups of tea
heck I could watch donna do nothing but grocery shop for 60 minutes straight
Russell T. Davies, Doctor Who: David Tennant + Russell T. Davies, the Metzger Interview (Boing Boing Video)
#it’s interesting how there’s these contradictory perceptions of the#russell t davies#era by it’s detractors#on one side there’s those of accuse it of being too fluffy and silly and say moffat brought darkness back into the show#and on the other there are those that say the RTD era is too pessimistic and angsty and moffat brought joy back into the show#i’d say the reason these opposing views exist is that RTD did have dark themes in his era#and treated them with the maturity that befitted them#so there were times that watching#doctor who#hurt because it was meant to#but that emotional realism in his writing also hit on the fact that people are sort of inherently absurd#and just can’t help being silly and funny#and there’s a drive to find a way to cope even in the darkest times#so his era is both full of darkness and life and joy#and both are treated as equally important#he isn’t flippant about tragedy and moments of silliness aren’t constrained by desire to keep it cool#he actually dislikes that word ‘cool’ (via quantumtardis)
