Today I bring you, 🌟pain🌟
The first thing on Magnus' mind as he opened his eyes that morning was a man.
Ocean blue eyes, sparkling the way they always seem to do when they caught Magnus'; his smile bright enough to light up a room. Hell, bright enough to light up Magnus' whole life. And it did. Oh god it did.
He desperately tried to hold on to the memory as it fade, even half-asleep his mind knew better than to ever let go of that man, his man, but deep inside he knew it was of no use. His Alexander was already gone. He'll always be gone.
The thought shook Magnus, the room losing its focus for a few seconds the way it did every time he thought about his husband since Alec died, and for a moment he just wanted to put the blanket back over his head and pretend the world didn't exist. Not anymore. Not when his world wasn't in it.
But the sound of footsteps, only minutes away from the door to their bedroom - his bedroom, his mind corrected, the passing thought a million tiny papercuts stabbing his heart- was a constant reminder why he wouldn't. Couldn't.
"What's going on, Blueberry?" he did his best to put on a smile as the tiny head peeked at him from across the room, burying his feelings deeper inside than he could reach for now. He didn't have time for his own grief right now. He had a job to do.
