I posted these Zombie Nesting Dolls about 3 years ago ($100 from Etsy Store PsandQx that is now gone).
How can you make your own? I found these blank nesting dolls from Golden Cockerel here. You can get huge expensive sets or cheap small ones - just google “Russian Nesting Dolls”. Paint, decoupage or Sharpie your zombies (make sure sharpies don’t bleed by testing them on the bottom).

These Rodarte Inspired Tights would make really great Zombie tights to finish off a costume. EDIT: I wonder if Cocorosa knows that after this post, these tights are pinned on almost every Pinterest Halloween Board as a Zombie costume inspiration? I also hope she doesn’t hate me for it!

Make distressed DIY Zombie Candles with a little paint, a knife, and candles.
Also this is a really funny tutorial. There is no step 1. There is: Step 1 Day One/Ground Zero: Distress Their Nervous Systems. Step 4 Day 15: Transformation Complete No One Makes It To Day 28.
Besides distressing the candles with paint and gauging up the wax, I would embed plastic aged teeth near the bottom of the candle where they won’t burn. TIP: I’d use toxic free cheap kids’ tempera paint.

How did he make this DIY zombie victim costume?
I bought the Zombie head at the Halloween store and ordered the hands (on-line) from a company in China. I used a pillow for the Zombie’s shoulders and attached the head with a 1 X 2. His arms were a pair of panty hose stuffed with cotton. I made the guts from paper towels wrapped in coats of liquid latex, and glued them to another pillow under my own sweatshirt.
This YouTube video shows how this illusion was done. Just get rid of the legs (and all that extra weight). For more awesome DIY Halloween costumes go here.

TIP: Here's an easy way to make veins using red cotton or wool. This technique has been around for many years but I've never seen anyone use it directly on skin. Pull some red wool apart so you see the individual fibers. Stick them down to your skin with prosaide or latex. Use a needle to adjust the shape while the glue is still wet. I made a quick infected zombie bite using this technique but you could use it anywhere.

DIY Phrenology Head Ornament or Pin Cushion Tutorial and Printables from The Graphics Fairy. The printables are reversed so you can transfer them to anything (and if you have a photo editing program you can create your own phrenology head “categories”). Also, Citra-solv is used as the transfer agent - a non toxic cleaning agent that gives you a certain softness to your design. You can also use tee shirt transfer paper. TIP: Make a zombie head using "eat brains", "eat" etc... instead of "dream" and "create" and mess up the head a little using a photo editing program.

DIY Zombie Hand Tutorial from Something Wicked this Way Comes... This makeup uses glue as a base - so it would probably hurt if you had hairy hands. Toilet paper and paint are layered on top.
