DIY Zombie Desk Toy Printable

GIFs by me using my favorite program makeagif.com. Eventhough these Paper Desk Toys are now on the WayBack Machine, the links for them still work.

Create your very own brain-chomping zombie or terrified Thanksgiving turkey with our downloadable template, an x-acto knife and glue. Entertain and delight your coworkers by pressing down on top of the toys to change their expressions.

Creating Veins with Wool

Remember when I posted this here? A zombie bitten hand? I was browsing  @powdah Instagram feed and found I had missed this video showing how to make DIY veins with wool here.

Gluing down wool or yarn is an easy way to create veins and capillaries in your makeups. You can use this as an effect on it's own or as part of something else such as a zombie bite.

 Materials:

  • Wool or yarn
  • Prosaide
  • Cotton buds
  • Scissors
  • Skin illustrator

DIY Yarn Veins

For one of the sickest FX makeup Instagram accounts, follow @powdah!

A photo posted by Marc Clancy on Instagram (@powdah) on Jan 1, 2015 at 9:54pm PST. From Mark Clancy (@powdah):

TIP: Here’s an easy way to make veins using red cotton or wool. This technique has been around for many years but I’ve never seen anyone use it directly on skin. Pull some red wool apart so you see the individual fibers. Stick them down to your skin with prosaide or latex. Use a needle to adjust the shape while the glue is still wet. I made a quick infected zombie bite using this technique but you could use it anywhere.

DIY Zombie Makeup Tutorial from Make. Step-by-step zombie makeup tutorial requiring: liquid latex, breadcrumbs, red acrylic paint and black and gray greasepaint. For more Halloween Makeup go here.

From the authors:

The corpse-eating ghoul is where your kitchen supplies come in handy, because this is a piece of makeup that requires bread crumbs. And if you do a full-face coat of liquid latex, when you’re done, you’ll have a particularly weird-looking mask that you can reuse.

DIY Rodarte Inspired Tights from Cocorosa here. Or really great Zombie tights to finish off a costume. EDIT: I wonder if Cocorosa knows these are pinned on almost every Pinterest Halloween Board as a Zombie costume inspiration after I posted them on this blog? I also hope she doesn't hate me for it!

DIY Cosmetology Head Ghoulish Restyle Tutorial from Bascombe Mania. This is an extremely detailed tutorial of how to take a rubber/plastic head, insert a skull and come up with this scary creation. You could probably do this on rubber head dolls with Dollar Store smaller skulls.
