btvs patronus headcanons

i was going to make graphics but at this point it’s a bit of a headache. anyway here are my headcanons, i’d love to know if you have other ideas

  • angel’s patronus is an irish wolfhound. independent and introverted, but over time, will become devoted to a group of friends. fierce when provoked.
  • dawn’s patronus is a hedgehog. a symbol of rebirth in ancient egypt. intelligent, and tougher than they appear.
  • willow’s patronus is a capuchin monkey. she’s a stereotypical slytherin, and capuchins are extremely cunning. and can use natural objects to their advantage. 
  • spike’s patronus is a fox terrier. humorous. easily bored and quite obsessive. will respond to any perceived hostility with aggression. great hunters.
  • tara’s patronus is a bay mare. she mentioned loving horses, and she is such a “horse girl.” kind, somewhat reserved, craving a few deep bonds.
  • xander’s patronus is a st. bernard. want to protect their friend. prone to mistakes. usually friendly but can be aggressive and territorial. 
  • andrew’s patronus is a salmon. intelligent. have been connected to prisons in celtic folklore. homosexual tendencies. really try hard. 

 that’s all i can think of for now

I don’t believe in soulmates, but the Buffy/Angel pairing probably comes closest to making me a believer. What makes them so incredibly beautiful and transcendent as a love story is that connection that they forge, which never disappears. They can sense each other when the other is near, they always fall right back into their rhythm, no matter how much time has passed and I love the way they never stop wanting to be together.

As I’ve gotten older, I have come to understand why people prefer other love stories in the Whedonverse over Bangel, especially when the relationship has more depth and development, such as Angel/Darla or even Angel/Cordy. But Buffy and Angel were the original pairing, the first BIG love story of the Whedonverse, the first epic human/vampire love story for my generation, and there’s a reason. They are epic and tragic and beautiful and, yes, melodramatic and slightly problematic, but whenever they’re together onscreen, they just light up the whole screen. I’ll will never stop loving them.

Ok as much as I love Killer Frost

I’m 110% over the whole “good girl goes bad and that means she puts on a revealing outfit and gets super sexual with her dialogue, movements, romantic partners, and random enemies.” Over and over again, heroic women are prudish and evil women are openly sexual, sexually liberated even, and the narrative keeps pushing that sexually liberated women are dangerous and deadly and like, have to be stopped.

Like is it so much to ask that when a woman goes to the dark side she doesn’t undergo the “Little Mary Sunshine” song from Reefer Madness? That’d be swell. 

Or y’know some of them could, but some of them could also not, and some of the heroic women could be sexually liberated without being evil. That would also fix this issue. 

Feel free to add your own examples, I just used the ones I’m most familiar with. I know there’s plenty more.
