Do y’all remember that time Percy tripped over the doorframe when he first entered the Hermes Cabin in TLT? No one talks about it because it happens so quickly, but it’s one of my favorite moments in the book. I know it’s a minuscule detail, but I really hope Disney includes it in the adaptation. One of the most compelling things about Percy’s character is that he’s so painfully, awkwardly human. Even by the end of the series, when he’s more powerful than anyone could possibly imagine, we still //feel// for him. We can relate to him. It’s how he’s managed to remain a fan-favorite and avoid Main Character Syndrome™️ (in which the fandom completely ignores the protag in favor of their companions or obscure side characters). It’s the tiny details that make our favorite characters feel real and the ones that are so often overlooked and neglected.
