BEING LATIN FOR ‘BAD STAR’

Things that pissed me off in “Black Widow” as a Russian
  1. Scar Jo’s broken, incomprehensible Russian. She’s been doing this job for a decade already, I don’t believe that she can’t get at least a little bit better at it. Marvel has enough money to hire a teacher idk. What I do believe is that they don’t give a shit, but if you want Russian spies in your franchise, then make them speak normal fucking Russian. It’s humiliating, really. Shows how little the MCU actually cares.
  2. Melina isn’t a Russian name, dammit. We have a name Milena. If that was intentional, then I can get over it (even tho that’s still pretty dumb), but if they just confused names, then they fucked up majestically.
  3. If Natasha is called Natasha (not by her full name, Natalya), then Yelena should be called Lena. Nobody calls a sister/a daughter/a girl of five Yelena all the time. Stuuuupid
  4. Also, it’s Elena, not Yelena. Yelena is like writing the name Helen as Khelen.
  5. Dreykov isn’t a Russian name.
  6. Nat’s words “sorry, little sister” in the end sounded so fucking fake and cheap in Russian, I can’t even…she said “извини, моя маленькая сестра” (izvini, moya malenkaya sestra). The right translation to English would be: “pardon me, my younger sister”. Dumb, right? They probably just used Google translate, the lazy douches. She should’ve said something like “прости, сестренка” (prosty, sestrenka).
  7. That scene with “maybe English next time?” Is HORRIBLY INCOMPREHENSIBLE and I’m a native speaker.

Bonus:

Apart from that scene (point 7), Florence Pugh’s Russian sounded great. Much better than Scarlett’s no offense to her).
