Never throw up your old writing.

I read these fanfics I wrote ages ago, and totally forgot about and thought they were just wasted effort anyway - and they were so cool! So self-indulgent, perfectly scratched the itch I had. I was delighted how long they were and disappointed when they ended already. Sure there are some rough patches here and there, but I take it as proof I have grown since then - the words I have pulled out my bone marrow at the time to even exist could be easily replaced with better fits now. I see ways how the sentence rhythm could be improved with few easy changes. But the enjoyment! It was pure joy reading this and I'm so glad I have written it, so glad I could read it again, perplexed I don't write every weird fic that crosses my mind. Cause these things count, guys. They really do.

genuinely from the bottom of my heart i wish every single one of you peace love joy and happiness for not only 2022 but for the rest of your lives.

may this year be kinder and gentler to you

you can fall in love at 30. you can discover your true passion at 40. you can go back to school at 50. you can learn to draw, or paint, or sing at 60. relax. just because you didn’t do most, or any, of the things considered “young adult milestones” doesn’t mean you never will. there’s no time limit on happiness.

this site definitely doesn't allow you to paste the link to any article blocked by a paywall (say, a NYT article) so that you can read it free of charge! that would be illegal and would benefit broke college students too much. it definitely does not do that. promise.

The only reason you need to write a story is wanting to write it. You don't need a justification, an excuse, or an explanation. You just need an idea and a way to write it down.

it’s never too late. go after what you want! it doesn’t matter if you’re 15 or 25 or 65. there’s no deadline or fixed schedule you need to follow. starting over or starting late is okay! go at your own pace! 

thinking about “you haven’t met all the people who will love you” and like!!! you also haven’t found all the things that will make you happy!!!! there will always be new authors and musicians and artists whose work you will one day discover and love!!!! there will always be new hobbies and skills for you to learn and feel fulfilled by!!! there will always be new things around the corner that will bring sudden and unexpected happiness!!!!!!!!!!!

You're stronger than you think. You've gotten through all of the worst days of your life. You can handle this. You can get through this.

If you are mentally fatigued and your day to day life seems meaningless, please try to constantly remind yourself that you are living through a plethora of negative historical events. How you feel is a direct result of that. Be kind to yourself and take it easy.
