tbh waiting to hear back from people re interviews is the WORST feeling ever. just. put me out of my misery PLS. I can’t handle this.
so like if I don't talk about this I will probably spontaneously combust like that guy in bleak house. am on mobile so sorry this isn't under a cut.
basically I've been temping the last two weeks at this company doing their admin stuff. my manager is really nice and she seems to think I'm actually good at my job and she has said numerous times that she wants to make me permanent and actually that's what I was asked before I accepted the role, whether I would consider going permanent.
anyway the thing is I'm signed up to a bunch of temp agencies and another one that I've done one temp assignment for (the one with the really bitchy manager who spoke really badly about her colleagues in emails behind their backs, who also cut the assignment short and didn't tell me personally) contacted me about a permanent position at like a cyber security startup. it looks super interesting, more so than my current job where they provide solutions to oil and gas companies which is not so much my thing, but in fairness I don't get exposed to any of it really? my focus is on keeping the office running and planning events - more logistics and facilities than actual content. I have a feeling the same will be true with this cyber security place in that I won't get a lot of contact with what's going on and so all the meaty stuff I probably won't even see.
the cyber security place are interviewing me monday. I spoke with the other agency I'm with, the one that I got my current role through, and they said to just say I have a doctor's appointment or something because it will look bad or like I'm not keen on being permanent anymore.
now idk what to do. do I go to this interview bearing in mind that agency's record and the fact that online the reviews aren't totally glowing or do I just say no at this stage?

good lord almighty I never wanna do a video interview again and I’ve only ever done one and that was today
lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nothing like two job rejections to make me feel wonderful this morning
anyway I have an interview in a couple hours so let's hope the jitters go away lmao

thanks becky :) honestly I’m a lil nervous because they literally didn’t even interview me they just hired me for six weeks on the spot and so I haven’t even spoken to anyone in the organisation itself but also it’s a media company so it could be gr9 and also permanent if I’m a good fit? so like. idk. I’m just hoping for the best. I appreciate all the encouragement I’ve had on here so thank you <3

tbh up until that point he was perfectly nice to me and he didn’t actually say anything rude to me, just gave me the stink eye. but whatever. I went in with good intentions for whatever that’s worth. and I found a new job now so I’m all good :D

okay so I may have another temp job in the pipeline that could become permanent. and it's with a media company so even tho it's on the corporate side I actually don't care because media is media and also I need the money lmao
does anyone else here feel physically exhausted from adulting because I feel physically exhausted from adulting today
lmao I think at this point I should add reading rejection emails to my list of skills on my cv because I've got wayyy too much experience of that rn
so upside - I have an interview with a recruitment agency tomorrow that have a few temp positions that I hope will amount to something. downside - my mother is already telling relatives I'm not working even tho my contract literally finished yesterday.
also my dad has some psychometric tests to do for a job he's applying for and he legit asked me to - or rather attempted to emotionally blackmail me into - doing his tests for him. smh. like I never once asked for help with my homework in my LIFE and this man who claims to have raised me is telling me I have some kind of obligation to do five different tests for him so he can get a better job - like yeah sure that's really my responsibility
so. I'm guessing that given the organisation I interviewed with last week hasn't got back to me about that position and also I was def nervous during it that I didn't get the job. and my contract is gonna end with my current temp job v soon and I met the person who will be replacing me today. but I also got an email about a permanent role in another charity through an agency so I'm crossing my fingers that that amounts to something esp because it's based in a nice location and it's higher pay but with mostly similar duties to what I'm doing now. I could do with some good vibes pls my peeps

hey anon, sorry I didn’t get to this until now. thanks for the luck :) the interview went well in some ways I think but in others I’m not sure bc at the end I dropped a glass of water on some wires lmao. but I asked some of my colleagues at work if that was a dealbreaker and even the ones in hr said it was unlikely and that employers can be v forgiving of that kind of thing. so hopefully something will come up.
okay fml I didn't get the job (at the literary agency) and what's frustrating is she said it was a pleasure meeting me and I was enthusiastic and passionate about books and I care about diversity and basically she was singing my praises except she said I should try a more editorial role because translation rights isn't the right fit for me. what I did wrong I have no clue. ugh ugh ugh.
okay so I also applied for this temping job for a couple weeks that could be permanent if this literary agency job doesn't work out and they just made me a fucking job offer so that at least means I have money! or I will lol for the next two weeks? I still have the literary agency interview in less than an hour so am gonna get going for that but I'm anxiously waiting for a call from the temping place bc I said I could do two or three weeks for sure but the offer was for four weeks. also I have to go in super early tomorrow to do paperwork lmao so like rip sleep for the next fortnight lmao
