1-Month-Left Rewatch Day 18 Person of Interest 3x18 Allegiance
#this scene was so incredibly lovely#and such a telling choice#because it literally does nothing for the plot#nothing#its purely a character developing moment#and yet in this one scene you get /so/ much about Shaw and Fusco#the audience learns that Shaw must have had a good relationship with her parents#good enough that they told her about when they first met and were young and in love#good enough that even though she was born and raised in the US and her mother died young she still acknowledges and celebrates#that side of her heritage#and then there’s Fusco who you think is going to be ignorant because he’s a died in the wool New York cop#and yeah he is but he’s also the type to understand that the real New York isn’t just one thing or one type of people#and maybe he’s never going to be super educated or a world traveler but he’s still perfectly capable of learning and appreciating#the cultures of his city#and it’s just such a really elegantly written scene you do not get nearly enough of in US TV especially not between#a white guy a woc#their BrOTP was something you never saw coming and just ended up being amazing#and the really shitty part is you look at scenes like this and go ‘ITS SO EASY’ and yet so so much media would still fall back#on lazy stereotypes and it would be sexist or racist or ageist#fuck im going to miss this show (via @racethewind10)
