“oh..” cisco says, fidgeting in his chair. “no,” he lies, quietly, and he sees some twisted version of acceptance flash through his friend’s eyes.

“he didn’t die painfully, if that’s what you’re asking,” he adds, trying not to remember the feeling of thawne ripping his chest open, feeling the warmth drain out of him.
