Jedidarkpilot is the most fucking RACIST idea of a ship I’ve ever heard about - aside from the fact it’s fucking abuse apology too. 

Fuck them, now I want Finn to fuck BOTH Rey and Poe just so those bitches get angry, someone draw me Finn dressed as Han with both Rey and Poe dressed in Leia’s slave outfit and hugging his legs, please. 

I just wanted all these things in one place and I want to thank each of these people involved in Star Wars (Chuck Wendig, Carrie Fisher, Rian Johnson, and Mark Hamill) for their support of LGBT+ fans. Their love and inclusiveness means so much to so many people, me included. It’s amazing to feel like you matter and that you are being acknowledged and validated, and I hope more can be added to this post in the very near future :)

I know I’m rambling…but you can’t ship something and only like ½ of the ship. That’s not how it works. Because at this point you’re only shipping Poe with Finn just because he’s the only male character he had extended screen time with. Not because you enjoy Finn as a character, and see him as someone with agency who deserves someone like Poe in his life. You know…because he is. The fact that the stormpilot tag is heavily slanted in Poe’s favor-despite having less screen time than Finn and being ½ of a ship-says a lot.

Oh, gods. 

No, Poe is more evident in the ship because Poe looked like he was attracted to Finn in the movie. 

Seriously, if Finn had been the one making those bedroom eyes and that lip bite, HE would be the character starring in most of the fanart and the discussions. 

Now can you PLEASE stop seeing racism in EVERY DAMN THING? Soon you’ll be yelling against the ship itself saying it’s racist that Finn has to have a white boyfriend and from that to advocating for segregation and against interracial relationships is a very fine line. 

Why You Need to a) NOT PANIC and b) Leave John Boyega the Fuck Alone

First of all, this is unprofessional as fuck. Chris Mandle quoted three words of something John Boyega said entirely out of context and tweeted it in order to get hits. And it worked! There are already five articles on Google News and a whole bunch of people posting about it in the Stormpilot tag! I saw a gif of the Titanic breaking in half! 

The full article will be out in Shortlist on the 21st, and if you weren’t already going to read it, you are now, aren’t you? You’re damn right, because you want to know what John Boyega actually said. Unfortunately that means we’re playing right into Chris Mandle’s grandstanding, and I hate to reward that, but I’ll do what I have to so I’m not just taking his word for it. 

Secondly, this is the same John Boyega who totally went along with Oscar’s “I was playing romance” statement in their Ellen interview. Do you really think he was trying to sink this ship? Really? 

Thirdly, OSCAR ISAAC SHIPS STORMPILOT, WHERE IS THE CONFETTI AND TICKER TAPE PARADE? I need a thousand percent more celebrating the fact that he is on board with this. How many fandoms ever get that from the actors who play the dudes they ship?

Fourthly, do you know what else once only existed in Oscar Isaac’s head? The idea that Poe Dameron grew up on Yavin IV.

And now it’s canon. 

Keep tweeting Lucasfilm and Disney and Rian Johnson and asking for queer representation. Keep making petitions. Keep talking about how much you love Stormpilot and queer Poe Dameron. 

But if I see anyone hating on John Boyega for this before we actually know what he said, I’m going to murder. 

Oh well if Finn/Poe isn’t going to be canon we all know it’s going to be PoeRey, because tbqh if Disney won’t make the 2 side characters a gay couple they will DEFINITELY NOT make an interracial couple with the MC.

Some people have a very selective gaydar - my wife is one of those, she saw Korrasami happening in LoK season ONE and couldn’t spot the gay in No. 6 before I told her - but every single queer guy I know irl agreed with me that Poe was portrayed as hella queer and hella interested in that fine man in front of him. Especially when you consider the scene above, like, I have NEVER seen ANY man make that face in ANY situation whatsoever that didn’t involve sexual attraction. 

And not only I am 43 years old with a whole lot of perverted queer male friends but I bagged a few scores of guys myself in my single days, grandma KNOWS what she’s talking about. 

Look, all I’m saying is you couldn’t get more cliche “I’m about to kiss you” eyes if you TRIED. As in, “right before they both lean in and start making out” eyes.

Ok but I can definitely see Poe telling anyone that gets near him that Finn is wearing his jacket. Resistance ground troops? That’s Poe’s jacket over there on that hot guy. Cleaning droids? Look, Finn is wearing his jacket isn’t he so cute?

Okay but I need Space Pirate AU. Poe as the roguish captain of a space galley working with the Resistance against the corrupt organization that rules their section of the universe.

Rey and Finn as orphans from one of the many subjugated planets under the Empire’s rule. Maybe both have been raised as child soliders or maybe they lived on the streets or idk fill it in. Shelted touch starved Finn and protective badass Rey who just wants to find a place she and Finn can make their own? Maybe.

Either way they get it into their heads to run away and blah blah events they end up on Poe’s ship. Insert some kind of conflict here. Rey is secretly a Space Princess? Finn unknowingly takes off with some sensitive information? Ren/Ben is a weirdo who really takes defections personally because he’s 12 and has no chill, so he wants to set an example.

Idk! The point is: Space Pirates. BB8 as a parrot droid. Space ships shaped like boats for reasons. People dressed like pirates. Poe letting Finn have his jacket because they were stowed away in cargo which doesn’t have heat and Finn gave Rey his jacket/pretended to be fine so she’d stay warm. Pirate tropes! Poe being totally amazed by Finn’s bravery and selflessness in spite of being raised as a solider by the empire and knowing what they’re capable of.
