The summer isn’t the only time of year when your hair’s health is in jeopardy!
Unlike last year, winter decided to play coy this time around and take its dear sweet time to make itself known. It lulled us into a false sense of security, teasing us with an unseasonably warm Christmas and days when all you really needed was a cozy jacket to get you through the day. But now, it’s either snowing buckets or absolutely freezing cold, as if winter literally said, “Surprise, bitch! I bet you’d thought you’d seen the last of me.”
The official first day of spring (AKA the vernal equinox) occurs on March 20 this year, which means that there are two more months of winter left. This is good news for those of you who are anxiously awaiting the warmer weather, but it’s bad news for anyone holding out for a lot more snowstorms. Social media is the biggest culprit for this feeling of FOMO, because it’s hard not to feel left out when scrolling through lovey-dovey pictures of the gifts someone’s significant other bough them.

So please, forward this article to anyone who wants you to shovel a driveway, go for a hike, hook up, or do anything that isn’t your life’s (winter) calling of snuggling on the couch and being cozy. Some mammals hibernate all winter – they have the right idea.
There are some other fashion rules that are more winter specific that we end up falling for every year, like pastels are for spring and summer only, or floral prints are out of place when you’re surrounded by snow. Uh, whatever, y’all. As long as you’re staying warm, you should have a lot more freedom with your wardrobe than winter niceties generally permit. Here are seven winter fashion rules that are outdated af and need to be broken.
