Welcome to the part of December that is a delightful combination of class finals, holiday prep, confusing transitional cold weather, and crazy shopping trips. The year is ending, so it feels like everybody and everything is doing the most. Of course you’re stressed!
I don’t know where adults get off saying that high school students have it easy, because that couldn’t be further from the truth – almost everything about high school is stressful.
If you’ve ever spent ten minutes on Tumblr, you’d be aware of the number of posts dedicated to self-care, the act of treatin’ yourself, especially during times of stress and general mental chaos. Of course, some self-care posts are all about laughs–spending all your money online shopping as self-care, reading fanfiction until four AM on a school night as self-care–but plenty are full of real tips on how to cope after an anxiety attack or when you’re just feeling crummy.
