Sleep is wonderful and life can be hectic, so we’re all tired all the time. But, to be fair, doesn’t it seem like students with busy schedules and lots of stress about more than just work are more tired than most people? Yeah, it kind of does. Even when you manage get a few hours of sleep, your mind is so overworked that you don’t get the quality rest that your young body needs. All the tests, sports, dances, and parties deplete you quicker than you can say, “I JUST WANT TO SLEEP ALLLLL DAY.” You’re taking on a lot in your life – you should have the energy to do it all! (P.S. cramming your face with energy drinks, sugar, and coffee isn’t going to help you out in the long run.)
For the most part, being alive is pretty cool. It’s cool to be awake, it’s cool to do things throughout the day, and it’s especially cool to crawl back into bed at night after a long day of doing things. But, you know, considering how objectively nice being alive and awake is, it is so hard–so, so hard–to actually wake up in the morning.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a morning person? I have. It must be so nice to wake up bright and early, smile while you open your eyes, then get ready for school/work/or just the day in an organized fashion. I can only imagine what it must be like to wake up the first time your alarm clock goes off instead of hitting snooze 10 times in a row. It must be wonderful to be able to enjoy the earliest hours of the day, and to get things done before most people are even awake.
While nappers are often seen as lazy or sloth-like, taking a midday snooze is actually good for you. There’s a reason animals sleep so much, and it’s not because they have nothing better to do.
Most beauty products are targeted toward daytime use, but a third of our lives goes by while we’re asleep! They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing. Now, I know I’m always telling y’all to wash your faces before bed and go to sleep with a clean slate. That is a rule you should never break, but it doesn’t mean you can’t slather on some nighttime treatments to really get the most out of your beauty sleep.
And luckily, there are plenty of overnight products that can make you wake up as ***Flawless as Beyonce. (Well, almost.) You can use nighttime hair masks, hair masks, special lotions, and more to make your sleeping hours beautifully productive.
