Valentine’s Day is just a few days away, which means one thing: almost everyone you know who is single is in full-on whining mode. I bet you thought I was going to say chocolate or candy or hearts, right? No. Since the dawn of social media began, Valentine’s Day has morphed from a holiday about love and presents to a holiday where single people spend as much time as possible complaining to anyone who will listen. And I’m really getting bored of hearing it.

Ugh, Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t matter if you’re single or in a relationship – it can be a pretty intimidating holiday. If you’re single, there’s a lot of pressure to do something amazing to show that you can still have fun even without a bae (which, of course you can). If you’re in a relationship, there’s a lot of pressure to buy the perfect gift and go on the perfect date. I don’t think this was Saint Valentine’s intention, but Hallmark had a different idea of what exactly this day means to society. If you’re single, are you going to ask your crush out? If you’re taken, how are you celebrating with your S.O.? What if you don’t have a crush or a significant other?
