For readers, Hogwarts has always seemed idyllic, exciting, and interesting… so much so, that we’ve completely neglected to think about all of the things that would actually suck about being a Hogwarts student.
Sure, men have more privilege at the end of the day, but we can’t pretend that women are always getting the crap end of the stick.
As much as we want to erase gender stereotypes and gender roles, and as passionate as we feel about allowing everyone to have equal rights, it can’t be denied that there are some differences between males and females.
Sex is weird. It’s one of those things that, no matter how many times you do it, never really seems to become totally normal. Everyone, it seems, tends to be in agreement on this–there are a ton of Tumblr posts and hilarious tweets that are specifically dedicated to just how awkward sex can be. Basically, when you get the Internet and sex involved, weird things happen. (But we all knew that already. Probably.) In fact, sex is so strange that, when it’s happening, chances are good that your focus is mostly on yourself.
Sometimes it seems like sex is always harder on females. Not only do we have to deal with pain and the constant possibility of an infection down there, but it also seems like all the bad stuff can only happen to us. Girls have to deal with a plethora of cringe-worthy sex mishaps (unknowingly getting your period, queefing…the list goes on.) But if it makes you feel better, guys have embarrassing sex moments, too. Between moody penises and that white stuff that shoots out of them, there is just so much that can go wrong. It’s one thing to have something horrible happen when you know the other person really well, and quite another when you’ve only recently met.
When washing my hands and my sleeves get a little wet around the edges.
I know you don’t want to hear that your parents might be right about some things. And, hey, they’re not right about everything! But they do give some advice that is worth listening to. Don’t believe me? Check out these 20 annoying things parents say that they’re actually right about, from this Ask Reddit thread. I honestly teared up almost 10 times while writing this, so… enjoy.
ChuckinTheCarma: During my weekly call from my dad on Wednesdays, exactly at 7pm for 20+ years: “You know, someday you are going to miss our conversations.” Goddamnit dad. TT
A Lot Of Guys Aren't That Romantic: “Ladies, 99% guys aren't like the guys in the movies. We aren't great at picking up subtle cues. We probably aren't going to go stand by a lake and look out while we build up the courage to race to the airport and stop your flight, or object to your wedding and take you away to a power ballad. We get drunk and bitch to our friends and play video games. We miss you, but this isn't the Notebook or a rom-com.”
Let’s be real: we all do weird things when we’re alone and no one else is around. We all have strange stuff going on in our minds that we would never actually voice out loud. Everyone has a kooky side to them that only they know about, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. So when I found this Ask Reddit thread on the weird stuff girls do when they’re alone that would seem crazy if they said it out loud, I knew I needed to share it.
