When it comes to couples in YA books, I’m usually inclined to support the way things work out in the original text. Sure, I have some qualms with Ron Weasley and Augustus Waters, but overall, I like to keep it canon. Harry and Ginny? Great. Tris and Four? All about it. Bella and Edward? Sure. Whatever. They deserve each other.

You know where I draw the line? The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I came out on Friday, which dubbed this weekend Hunger Games weekend. We’re all obsessed with this series from the books to the movies to the merch. Even though we definitely don’t want to participate in the whole fight-our-peers-to-the-death thing, we do often think about which characters we would date.
I mean, there are a lot of viable options. Katniss is lucky she gets to choose between Peeta and Gale! Tough decision, truly, because they would both be great boyfriends. In the spirit of the games, we ranked which Hunger Games characters (the currently living ones) would have the odds in their favor of being a good boyfriend or girlfriend.

In case you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t noticed yet, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is being released this Friday, November 21. This past weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Mockingjay press conference in New York City. Almost the entire cast was there: Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Sam Claflin, Willow Shields, Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland, and TK TK. When I say it was one of the best experiences of my life, I am not even exaggerating a little bit.
Not only did I get to sit in a room full of amazing actors, but I got to sit less than five feet away from two of my favorite celebrities ever: Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence. Guys, I think I smiled for a straight hour. Every actor and actress there was hilarious, down-to-earth and so, so kind. They obviously talked about Mockingjay the whole time, and as a huge fan ofThe Hunger Games, this was so fun and interesting for me. I truly had the best time, and the only way the afternoon could have been better is if I could have gotten a picture with Jennifer, Josh and Liam (I couldn’t because, bodyguards).
