I firmly believe that a big reason a lot of relationships fail is because a lot of people put on a show in the beginning. What I mean by this is that, in the beginning, both members of a relationship are on their best behavior – they’re making a concrete effort to be funny, cool, laid-back, sexy, confident, go-with-the-flow partners who warrant a serious commitment. As the months go by, however, they slowly start to transform into their real selves, and the “I’m the cool partner” vibe starts to disappear.
