Yeah, I’m going to be that killjoy that so many of you hate: How many racist Halloween costumes of Latinos do you expect to see this Halloween? Probably quite a few. If you don’t see somebody dressing up as an undocumented immigrant or a saucy Day Of The Dead babe, I’ll be surprised. No, seriously, you can buy a Mexican halloween costume right now at Party City, as if Mexicans–and Latinos in general, to be honest–are make believe creatures who wear funny hats, rock goofy mustaches, cross the border, and wear cool face paint sometimes. For people who think that the aforementioned costumes are too passe, there’s always dressing up like a chola and mocking a Latina subculture.

People are ignorant af to the tons of amazingly influential Latin@s out there, especially Latina women.
