I love me some underwear, and going commando is something I rarely do. I like having the satisfaction of knowing that there’s a barrier between me and my jeans… I don’t know why, I just find comfort in it. Well, I bared it all and didn’t wear underwear for an entire week. Maybe I could fall in love with being commando? And it is pretty hot, so less clothes could potentially help me cool down. Did I enjoy being panty-line free or did I throw on some cotton undies ASAP? Find out!
If you’ve been on Instagram at all in the last few months, I’m sure you’ve noticed the many pictures of awesome girls rocking one very popular beauty trend: unnatural, bold lip colors. I’m not talking about deep berry colors or bright pinks – think colors like black, green, and blue. I’ve always wanted to try out this trend, but I’ve never been brave enough to do it. Until now! For this week, I decided to go to the unnatural side and wear a bold lip color every day. What happened? Read on to find out!
Last week, I went seven whole days without shaving my legs… and it wasn’t as bad as I thought! So, the logical option seemed to be going a week without shaving my armpits. Oh, yikes. It’s been abnormally hot here in Los Angeles, so wearing a tank top is pretty much necessary. I normally shave my pits quite frequently, and have never missed more than two days. I love having stubble-free armpits, but this week, I had to let the hair grow. Did I give up or did I push forward? You can only find out if you read on! Oh, and I want to assure you that the hair looks shorter in pictures than it did IRL. One of my hairs actually curled. Yes, curled.
I enjoy water because it’s refreshing and it keeps me alive. We’ve all heard that drinking eight glasses of water a day is ideal… I probably drink two glasses of water a day in addition to iced tea and soda. I’ll be the first one to say that I should definitely be drinking more water. This week, my goal was to drink eight or more glasses of water per day (and nothing else!) I was hoping with all the water I was drinking that my skin would clear up, I would feel more hydrated throughout the day, and possibly more energetic. Was drinking eight glasses a day beneficial or will Diet Coke always serve me the best?
This week, my goal was to avoid all artificial sweeteners. That meant no sugar, no Splenda, no Equal, no Sweet & Low… nothing. Why was I doing this? Artificial sweeteners have a really bad reputation for their potential links to cancer, obesity, and other serious health issues. Was I able to go a week without artificial sweetener, or did I cave for a Diet Coke? Find out!
I go out to eat roughly four to five times a week… I know, it’s terrible. But in my defense, going out to eat is one of the things I enjoy most in life. If you look at my Wells Fargo statement, it says that 95 percent of my income is spent on restaurants…95 PERCENT. Yes, by not going out to eat, I could probably purchase a small island in the Philippines by now. This week I decided to finally give up going out to eat, buying takeout, or even eating what someone else was buying. All meals were to be made at a house with groceries. Is only 5 percent of my Wells Fargo being spent on going out to eat now or have I gone back to my foodie-ways? You’ll have to see!
I’ve been wearing makeup since I was 13-years-old. As soon as I got into middle school, I drew on my thick eyeliner and experimented with funky lip colors. I was a super emo kid, so I used makeup to express myself. Over the last few years, my look has changed: I only use eyeliner to create a cat-eye, and I like only a few strokes of mascara and subtle lip color. So, when I was presented with this challenge of not wearing makeup for a week, I wasn’t that scared. I already skip makeup on lazy days!
To be honest, I’ve always been one of those people who live a “yoga lifestyle.” You know what I’m talking about: drinking green juice, always carrying around a yoga mat, sporting perfect yoga hair that remains perfect no matter what position you’re in. So, I decided to try doing yoga every day for a week. Each day, I did a different yoga sequence that focused on a different body part. My goal was to do 45 minutes of yoga per day as soon as I woke up, and I can proudly say I did that. Did yoga kick my butt, or did I kick yoga’s butt?
Ah, my two favorite decades: the 1960′s and the 1970′s. I’ve always thought that these two decades had the coolest style and greatest music. I also love that the people living during these times truly embraced a nonconformist attitude. So, I decided to dress like it I was in that time period! Important note: I originally planned to do the ’70s for one week and then the ’60s the week after, but after researching, I discovered that the styles were super similar. So, I thought I would combine the two into one groovy week of being, well, groovy.
Well, I did some digging in my mom’s closet…and I found an ’80s goldmine! I was able to borrow outfits with bold colors, patterns, and shoulder pads galore. I planned out my outfits each night before and took my pictures the morning before my day started! The results were a lot to handle at times, and this was by far the most times my hair was ever in a side ponytail. This was a fun week with some funky clothes! Like, fer sure!
Have you ever said you were going to do something.. and actually stuck with it? How about for a whole week? Well, I decided that I would try making mini resolutions… for a whole week. I’ve always been the kind of person that says they’re totally, 100 percent going to stick to doing something new, but then only lasts about three days doing it. Whether it’s drinking more water, reading more books, or watching less Netflix (LOL never), I’ve never committed hard enough to stick it through a week. Which is why I’m going to be starting something new every week, and sticking to it day to day. I’m definitely going to be expecting some urges to give up but, I will not let you girls down! Hey, maybe whatever I’m doing will become a habit!
My first task? Wearing high heels every day for a week.
