Breakfast at Tiffany's: This is yet another timeless classic that almost never happened. I love this movie almost as much as I love the book, and so that makes me super sad to hear. This movie had a ton of problems. The author of the book, Truman Capote, didn't agree with movie executives on anything. He wanted Marilyn Monroe to play Holly Golightly, but she didn't want to. Capote supposedly hated the fact that Audrey Hepburn ended up landing the role. Directors and screenwriters were both fired, the main song in the movie almost didn't make it, and Capote wanted to be the star - so much stuff happened that it's surprising that it actually did get made. And after all that, Capote said that he hated the adaptation.
