this is a weird request. can you help a transman and their wife move out of a controlling parent's grasp and out of a red state?

spoiler alert: its not even our parents.

we moved in with a friend because he made the mistake of buying a house when he didn't have the means to and needed help paying for bills, and we needed to move into a place that let us live in more than just a single room.

now we're constantly harassed by his parents because they think he shouldn't have let us move in and should have let someone of their own choosing move in. they go through our stuff, and weekly visits to "clean" because they think we're all incompetent and dig their noses into places they shouldn't be. Just today they introduced new potential housemates without warning or any communication, and just before that they stormed our storage room and began organizing and cleaning it without asking or warning. We cannot go back to being shoved into a single room again.

With the upcoming political climate, living as a afab trans POC (and native, at that) in a red state like South Carolina is going to be insanely dangerous. I've already been preached to, I've already been harassed at work, and it's dangerous for us to even live in the area we do, since the further from downtown you are, the more red it gets. and we're at the edge of the county.

I know there's a lot of GFMs going around right now, but we aren't in a safe spot, and we have friends in northeast that might help us. We just don't have the means to get there.

If you can, please help us move up north, if you'd like to help us pay bills for the time being, or if you'd like some commissions from my amazing wife ( @parememi ).

my wife got fired.

the reasons were absolutely stupid but we live in an at-will-to-work state. we still haven't gotten any extra donations. we're desperate. please. i do commissions too but my wife needs the money. please.

he's currently dealing with a cold, and I want to boost his campaign and help him get some money so he can have something warm to eat, so he can recover quickly! being sick on the regular is already terrible - but being sick in heavy occupation? I can't even imagine how terrible that is.

I think the most unintentionally pretentious part of me is I genuinely forget that most people do not have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of mythology and folklore. I literally just assume most people know at least the name of every Greek god. My mom and I were watching the Banshees of Inisherin and at the start, she asked "Do you know what a banshee is?" and I was so stunned because it would never occur to me to ask that question because I would never assume the average person doesn't know what a banshee is. The average person knows what a banshee is right. You know what a banshee is right. You know the names of the greek gods right. You know that norse myth where loki fucked the horse right. Right. RIGHT

just wanted to say that i'm seeing headlines everywhere say "floridians rejected an amendment to secure abortion rights" and that is NOT TRUE.

we voted ~57% to enshrine abortion rights in the florida constitution. amendments for our state require a supermajority, aka 60% to pass. this is bullshit and we were set up to fail.

the entire time, our governor Ron Desantis' officials were pressuring and threatening media outlets for publishing anything supporting this amendment.

don't believe the bullshit headlines. floridians wanted abortion rights.

these tags from @dharmasharks made me so emotional, she's so correct. i'm from the south, and it's awful to see my state vote the way it did. but it's such a complicated and layered issue, there's so much suppression & gerrymandering & just total lack of access. my own county 'forgot' to mail thousands of ballots to people. but the south is full of good people who work really hard to make things better. and it's a good thing to hope for better things. don't write us off so easy, we are not giving up, don't give up on us.
