I love that Yatora is long-sighted lol. Like not only on a metaphorical level is he good at perceiving things far away while missing what’s right under his nose, but also on a literal level too & I just find this so endearing lmao
“Hey. Can I have a cigarette, please?”
yatoyota new year date 😌
“I like you, Yotasuke-kun, but i also hate you so much that it makes me sick.” heard we r getting the new years scene animated today👀 (ps: click for better quality!)
While watching Blue Period today, I realised how much I can relate to Yaguchi. Especially this scene made me think about how people expect you to be happy, just because you do what you like. The truth is; it isn't always fun or easy.
God I might be looking too deep into this, but this anime really hits. 😩

I really enjoy this scene because of the way Yatora's and Yotasuke's perspectives start to clash and we get to start seeing their struggles with art and their own selfs.
Take Yotasuke for a moment, he might seem mean and ill spirited but he is just frustrated seeing how Yatora is stepping into this art world when in Yotasuke's eyes he already has it all. Yatora is sociable, gets along with other, passionate, smart.... Yotasuke has been deemed an artist since a young age and its been the only thing he's had. Its frustrating for him because Yatora decided he wanted to get into art only over a year ago at that point, an easy decision for him whilst Yotasuke has been struggling with his identity for years with this "artist" label thats been set upon him.
On the other hand Yatora is trying hard to improve, and having Yotasuke constantly reject his approaches to connect on top of the competitiveness he feels for his art, is frustrating. Yatora wants this "natural talent" Yotasuke has and is constantly trying to elevate him into this label and brand Yorasuke hates and thus it makes it hard for both to see a middle ground.
Anyways in this essay I will-
Just because I’m doing what I love, doesn’t mean it’s always going to be fun.
