The star-studded premiere of the MGM/Edmund Goulding pre-code drama Grand Hotel, held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. on April 12th, 1932. Seen arriving to sign the guest book and watch the movie are MGM studio chief Louis B. Mayer, Robert Montgomery, Marlene Dietrich and her husband Rudy Sieber, Jean Harlow and MGM producer Paul Bern (who would become her husband in July of that year and commit suicide under questionable circumstances two months later), Constance Bennett and her husband Henry, Marquis de La Falaise (who was previously married to Gloria Swanson), Norma Shearer, and Clark Gable (sans mustache).
