Whilst cycling around a village in Chiang Mai (I forget which!) We met one of the kindest souls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting- a retired fish farmer. We were tired and in need of a little water and so he very kindly invited us in and showed us his fishing baskets that he longer uses due to his old age. He showed us the techniques used to weave the baskets from the bamboo he grows in his garden. He gave us a sweet Thai snack- a sweet coconut paste that was wrapped in a banana leaf and boiled. His kindness was boundless and I will remember him for a long time.
